Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has teamed up with David Beckham and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs to make a cocktail for charity. Reynolds is a co-owner of Aviation Gin, while Beckham is a co-owner of Haig Whisky, and Diddy is a co-owner of DeLeon Tequila.
Reynolds acquired a stake in Aviation Gin in 2018, and was the creative director of the brand until its sale to the European beverage company Diageo in 2020. Since then, Reynolds has continued to have an ongoing ownership interest with Aviation Gin and remains the face of the brand. Former professional soccer player Beckham joined the Haig Whisky team in 2014 when he partnered with them to launch a new grain whisky, Haig Club. Following Diddy’s success with Ciroc Vodka, the rapper and entrepreneur joined the premium tequila brand DeLeon in 2014. Haig Whisky, Ciroc Vodka, and DeLeon Tequila are also all owned by Diageo.

Never one to miss a comedic opportunity on social media, Reynolds released a video on his Youtube channel earlier today showing the trio’s best shot at creating a collaborative Super Cocktail. The goal was to make a drink with all three of their liquors, as well as natural flavors found in Tampa Bay and Kansas City, in honor of the Super Bowl this Sunday. After realizing how disgusting their drinks were, they concluded that they should leave mixology to the professionals. So they decided to donate one million dollars to support the bartending community, specifically through Another Round, Another Rally, the Bartender’s Benevolent Fund, and Drinks Trust UK. The three organizations support hospitality professionals in the U.S., Canada and the UK, respectively.
Reynolds is no stranger to charity work, as he recently used his ongoing “feud” with Hugh Jackman to generate donations for the Sick Kids foundation. Now, he has focused his efforts on the hospitality industry, which has been one of the hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic. The industry has suffered on a global scale with a seemingly infinite list of bars and restaurants that have temporarily shut down or permanently closed. Many of the establishments that have managed to stay open have had to drastically reduce their staff, many of whom are making significantly lower wages due to less business.
It’s always inspiring to see celebrities giving back to their communities, especially the ones that support their own business ventures. Though many people know Reynolds for his role as Deadpool, he continues to prove himself as both an accomplished entrepreneur and a beacon of generosity.
