Ryan Reynolds has sent a heartfelt video to a fan battling a rare form of cancer. While the Free Guy leading man has been lighting up screens since the 1990s in projects like YTV's Hillside and ABC's Two Guys and a Girl, his fanbase grew exponentially in the 2000s with National Lampoon's Van Wilder, the now-cult classic Waiting... and The Proposal. Of course, Reynolds is now synonymous with Deadpool, the Marvel comics character he fought to bring to life on film.

Both Deadpool and its sequel Deadpool 2 proved massive successes, and even a Golden Globe nomination for Reynolds. The franchise is set to live on with a third installment, which will officially integrate the once FOX-owned property into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Like his fellow superhero stars, Reynolds has used his large platform to give back to various causes over the years. For instance, he and his wife Blake Lively, a fellow A-list star, donated $1 million in February to help people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic-fueled hunger crisis. Reynolds has also often reached out to personally connect with fans.

On September 13, a video showing the actor's latest touching efforts surfaced on social media. Julie Rohr, a Canadian fan currently battling a rare form of cancer, took to Twitter to share her gratitude for a video that Reynolds sent her. Telling Rohr that the incredible love of her friends and family "struck" him, the actor said he wanted to let her know he was thinking about her, and to send her "lots of love" as well. See Rohr's response and watch the full clip from Reynolds below:

Reynolds capped off his message by asking Rohr to "stay strong," and telling her "I hope I get to meet you in person one of these days." Rohr was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma, a rare type of cancer that grows in the body's smooth muscles, in 2015. She recently told loved ones that she was going into hospice care. To bring a smile to her face, the Twitterverse banded together to gather celebrity messages for her, and Reynolds wasn't the only star to turn up. Schitt's Creek icon Dan Levy also sent Rohr a video. On behalf of his cast and crew, he told her that they were all elated she loved their show and that they each send her love. Levy's dad Eugene Levy and co-star Karen Robinson also recorded their own sweet videos for Rohr.

Rohr's priceless and teary-eyed reaction said it all, and she was clearly incredibly moved by the messages. Celebrity acts of kindness like these are particularly important as the significant attention they receive can lay fertile ground for a massive chain reaction, leading to further support for people like Rohr. And while Rohr's star-studded clips from the Free Guy actor and more of her favorites provide good news for the world to soak up, most importantly, they bring her joy when it's needed most.
