In Netflix's 6 Underground, there's a lot to take in, including a scene where star Ryan Reynolds can be seen standing in the background recording a social media post as a car-crash stunt that his character is actually involved in happens. The action/thriller from director Michael Bay features Reynolds as a billionaire leader of a team of untraceable vigilantes out to take down seemingly untouchable criminals and terrorists. It also stars Mélanie Laurent, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ben Hardy, Adria Arjona, Corey Hawkins, and Dave Franco as members of this elite ghost squad.

In September 2018, during the filming of 6 Underground, Reynolds recorded a social media post while a huge stunt takes place behind him. Poised and calm, he talks to the camera about working with Michael Bay. He says, "The best part about working with Michael Bay? I don't know, a lot of people would say the action, but for me it's the stillness. You know, like those quiet moments." He keeps on talking as the car crash unfolds behind him and creates so much noise that he can't be heard.

This crash made the finished film, as did Reynolds' social media video. The actor can be seen in the background filming the spot as a car flies through the air at the 14:42 mark. The moment is circled in the left of the image below.

The stunt in question is from the 6 Underground's opening setpiece. In the chaotic scene, which was filmed on the beautiful streets of Florence, Italy, Reynolds' character is riding in a DayGlo green car driven by Dave Franco while it's chased by several other vehicles. Of course, there were stunt drivers in the cars for the actual crash, so Reynolds had some time on his hands to record a social media post.

Ryan Reynolds has always displayed a great sense of humor and a prowess for using social media. The fact that this particular post caused him to have a cameo appearance in a movie that he also stars in just adds to his status as one of the celebrities who best utilizes social media. Whether or not he meant to be visible in the finished 6 Underground scene is unknown, but it if he did, it lends so much meta value to the entire movie.
