One of the most prolific and influential figures in showbusiness, Ryan Murphy has entertained audiences for more than twenty years. A writer, producer, and director, his most famous shows include critically acclaimed darlings like Pose, television staples like American Horror Story, and pop culture classics like Glee.

Murphy's characters are always unconventional and explosive. Morally ambiguous and willing to do everything most people wouldn't, they provide their series with a unique perspective that's become Murphy's trademark. Should a group of these transgressive folks be thrown into a Hunger Games arena, the battle would be as bloody and treacherous as any the Capitol ever saw. And by the time the dust settled, only one would remain standing, ready to claim their place as the victor.

Chanel Oberlin From Scream Queens

Chanel Oberlin

Chanel Oberlin is one of the meanest mean girls in modern history. Materialistic, cruel, self-obsessed, and completely amoral. she's someone who can't see past her own self. She uses her power and wealth to always get her way and enjoys playing games with the poor and unsuspecting people that surround her.

Chanel would be a hit with sponsors, who would shower her with gifts at every chance. Audiences would be less enthusiastic, though, disliking her superior attitude and self-absorbed ways. Ultimately, Chanel is neither athletic nor intelligent enough to make it past the initial stages of the Games. She'd be the first one to go, for sure.

Sue Sylvester From Glee

Despite her tough and seemingly unforgiving nature, Sue is a good person and a truly committed teacher. She loves to win and goes to great lengths to always come out on top, but that doesn't mean she's evil or cruel. In fact, she proves her innate kindness many times over the course of her show.

Sue would ardently disapprove of the Games and would refuse to take part in the carnage. Being an imposing champion, she wouldn't be messed with initially. In fact, other tributes might actually consider her a threat. Her unwillingness to participate would ultimately be her demise and she would fall to the other, bloodthirsty tributes.

Payton Hobart From The Politician

Ben Platt in The Politican

Tributes could be easily fooled by Payton Hobart's appearance. After all, he's a preppy, somewhat spoiled young man who doesn't seem capable of hurting a fly. And while that may indeed be the case, physically at least, there's a lot more to this politician than meets the eye.

For starters, Payton is ruthless and cunning. He might not be tall or muscular, but he's intelligent and resourceful. Underestimating him would be the last mistake his enemies made. Payton is not evil per se, but he is cold enough to step on others on his way to the top. And while this might help him for a while, the Games would ultimately get the best of him.

Lana Winters From American Horror Story: Asylum

Sarah Paulsonb as Lana Winters in AHS: Asylum

And speaking of characters that could be easily underestimated, Lana Winters could be the ultimate one. Ambitious and clever, Lana is definitely one of a kind. What makes her so rare is that she has all the qualities of a great journalist in abundance. She's skillful, resilient, determined, and courageous. She's a survivor, willing to do everything to stay in the game.

Lana's steadfastness would take her a long way in the Games and might even make her an audience favorite. But the arena is cruel and merciless, and although Lana would put up one hell of a fight, she'd eventually fall prey to those who kill for a living.

Constance Langdon From American Horror Story: Murder House

Jessica Lange

Going from one first lady of American Horror Story to the other, Constance Langdon is one of the first despicable characters in the show. Vain, chaotic, nefarious, and selfish, Constance not only has no problem with murder, but she actually encourages it.

She would quickly form an alliance with someone stronger and more imposing and would act as a ring leader, manipulating the events from behind the red curtain. And while some tributes might consider her helpless, she'd soon remind them that she was, and still is, a hell of a shot. She'd cause her own demise, though, as she would try to double-cross her allies, paying the ultimate price for her mistake.

Andrew Cunanan From The Assassination Of Gianni Versace

Darren Criss

A fictionalized version of the real-life serial killer, Andrew is terrifying because he's so charming. A consummate actor capable of deceiving everyone around him, Andrew would instantly become a fan favorite. The Capitol would actively root for him, thanks to his good looks and enchanting personality.

Andrew keeps the true darkness within, and he would only show it when it benefitted him. Despite not being the tallest or strongest, he would stay one step ahead of his foes thanks to his cunning and brilliance. In the end, he'd be cornered, and seeing no way out, he'd probably take his own life rather than facing all those he betrayed.

Edmund Tolleson From Ratched

Edmund Ratched Season 1 (1)

Murderous and unstable, Edmund Tolleson would shine inside the arena. He might not be the brightest, but he is ruthless, insensitive, and violent, making him the perfect tool for someone else's plans. Over the course of the Games, he'd be manipulated by many, but none would be able to get rid of him.

Once Edmund lost all his allies, he'd be left to his own abilities. Brute force could only take him so far and he would ultimately fall at the hands of the remaining tributes, who'd understand he's a rabid dog who needs to be put down before he causes more wreckage.

Kai Anderson From American Horror Story: Cult

If Edmund is a puppet, then Kai is pulling the strings. Disturbed and controlling, Kai would terrify even the audience with his deranged antics. Acting as a morally superior leader, he would form his own cult within the arena, successfully manipulating others into caring and even dying for him.

Kai's great weakness is the belief in his own superiority, which blinds him to his own limitations. And while he definitely is gifted with the ability to convince and entrance others, he'd be ultimately outwitted by a tribute who'd have no time for his ghost stories and fear fantasies.

Athena Grant From 9-1-1

Athena Grant

Tough and blunt, Athena would have no patience for the Games. She'd wholeheartedly disapprove of them, but would also understand the only way to stop them is by winning first. An absolutist who sees things as either black or white, Athena would remain stoic and persistent throughout the entire competition.

A quick thinker who isn't afraid to stray from the book, Athena would endure and persevere, ultimately reaching the final leg of the Games. She'd be pretty tired by the end, both physical and mentally, and would eventually be defeated by the one tribute that no one saw coming.

The Carver From Nip/Tuck

The Carver Nip Tuck

Out of all the tributes on the arena, The Carver is perhaps the most disturbing one. Going through life as a seemingly successful surgeon, he secretly harbors hatred and bitterness that ultimately succeed in poisoning him against the world. Deeply damaged and astute, The Carver doesn't kill his victims, he just tortures and disfigures them, leaving them behind for someone else to finish off.

Just like in the series, The Carver would ultimately win due to a combination of cunning and fortune. The Carver would then emerge victoriously and everyone in the Capitol would keep their distance away from him. Beauty is a curse upon the world, The Carver says. It keeps us from seeing who the real monsters are.
