Warning! SPOILERS for RuPaul's Drag Race UK season 3 episode 8 below!

After reigning supreme for many weeks, Krystal Versace is now facing stiff competition from Ella Vaday and Kitty Scott-Claus after their top two placements on RuPaul's Drag Race UK season 3 episode 8. Last week, a jaw-dropping lip sync performance from Vanity Milan ended up sending Scarlett Harlett home on Drag Race UK. Some viewers thought that Vanity was probably going home in episode 7, but her lip sync definitely turned the tables on Scarlett.

As a result, episode 8 started out with a level playing field. Krystal Versace and Ella Vaday were leading the pack with two RuPeter badges, whereas Kitty Scott-Claus and Vanity Milan had one RuPeter badge each. The endgame of Drag Race UK season 2 featured Bimini Bon-Boulash with four maxi challenge wins and Lawrence Chaney with three, but this top four in season 3 is much more evened out. With that in mind, episode 8 really could've gone either way.

This week, the maxi challenge on Drag Race UK season 3 was a spoof on Star Wars called "Bra Wars." This was obviously an acting challenge, and Kitty was tasked with assigning the roles after having just won the Miss Fugly maxi challenge. Needless to say, Kitty had a blast playing a casting director for this low-budget dragged-up sci-fi movie. First up, Kitty gave herself the main role of Brabarella. She then assigned Darth Shader to Ella, Baby Yolo to Vanity, and She-3PO to Krystal. Michelle Visage was there to direct the queens again, and we all hoped that things didn't go as badly as they went for the Draglexa challenge. Kitty killed it in this challenge from the start, while Vanity, Ella, and Krystal appeared to struggle at first.

Frankly, acting challenges on Drag Race have been historically critiqued in very different ways by the judges. Someone can be called out for holding back or over-acting too much. A queen can be rewarded for doing great with a smaller part, or criticized for not showing up too often in the challenge. There was no denying that Kitty was the best queen in "Bra Wars", but the judges also loved Ella and were proud of the end result that came from Krystal and Vanity. In the end, however, RuPaul didn't pick a bottom two. Mama Ru instead chose a top two, Ella and Kitty, and asked them to lip sync for a RuPeter badge.

Neither Ella nor Kitty had lip synced on RuPaul's Drag Race UK at all up until this point, so it was interesting to watch them perform for the judges this week. Ella was clearly serving body and flirting with guest judge Russell Tovey throughout the lip sync, while Kitty gave a hilarious performance that you couldn't take your eyes off of. Ultimately, RuPaul decided that the lip sync was a tie, so both Ella and Kitty got a RuPeter badge for themselves. Ella is now leading the competition with three badges.
