Warning! SPOILERS for RuPaul's Drag Race UK season 3 episode 4 below!

The girl group challenge on RuPaul's Drag Race UK season 3 episode 4 didn't feature the next coming of the Frock Destroyers or the United Kingdolls, but Pick 'N' Mix did just enough to rise above the competition and win. After the viral sensations that "Break Up (Bye Bye)" and "UK, Hun?" became in the last two seasons of Drag Race UK, there was a lot of buildup heading into the girl group challenge in season 3. Moreover, queens like Vanity Milan, Choriza May, and River Medway were hungry to prove themselves.

On the other side of the spectrum were Krystal Versace with two RuPeter badges and Scarlett Harlett with one RuPeter badge. So when RuPaul asked Scarlett to pick her group, she picked not only Krystal but two other queens who have received mostly positive critiques in past weeks: Charity Kase and Kitty Scott-Claus. Those four queens formed what became known as the Slice Girls. Meanwhile, Ella Vaday joined Vanity, Choriza, and River in what became known as the Pick 'N' Mix girl group.

Unlike the other Drag Race UK seasons where both girl groups sang the exact same version of a song, these queens had to pick between the upbeat version and the ballad version of "B.D.E. (Big Drag Energy)". It was a given that a group of drag queens would go for the upbeat version of the song, and that's exactly what the Slice Girls did. Judging by the vocal recordings and initial choreographies, there wasn't any clear group doing better or worse. Back in season 1, the Frock Destroyers surprised viewers despite being considered underdogs that week. In season 2, the United Kingdolls came in as frontrunners and followed up on those expectations. On Drag Race UK season 3, however, there were no unanimous winners and losers in the maxi challenge.

When it comes to the Slice Girls, Krystal and Kitty looked fabulous and delivered solid performances on the main stage. Charity seemed tentative, however, whereas Scarlett quite literally forgot her lyrics and looked shell-shocked during her performance. There weren't any major mistakes from Pick 'N' Mix, but their performance was unfortunately not as iconic as the Frock Destroyers and the United Kingdolls in past seasons. Of note, River's verse was heartfelt and endearing, Vanity came in strong with her lyrics and performance, and Choriza delivered a lot of laughs. Ella didn't particularly stand out, but she did just fine in the group. As expected, Pick 'N' Mix won the challenge, with Choriza, Ella, River, and Vanity earning their first-ever RuPeter badge.

In the end, Charity and Scarlett fell in the bottom two and lip synced to "Who Do You Think You Are" by the Spice Girls. They both did a solid job in the lip sync, so it was unclear which queen would prevail in the end. Thankfully, Mama Ru gave fans exactly what they wanted: a Double Shantay for Charity and Scarlett.
