RuPaul's Drag Race Recap: Kandy Muse Feuds With Tamisha Iman

It is time for another episode of RuPaul's Drag Race. The second queen of the season gets eliminated this episode after a thrilling sewing challenge.

So far this season has been pretty stellar and this episode is no exception. The queens are throwing shade while throwing a ball! Tamisha Iman and Kandy Muse start the episode with a good old fashioned drag queen catfight. Tamisha says "The pageant has started so now we can battle." Kandy says in her confessional, "Tamisha, just because you've done drag for 500 years doesn't mean you're better than me." The dolls are taking off their gloves! This results in an explosive fight between the two in Untucked.

The mainstage challenge this week is the ball challenge! The sewing challenges are the greatest episodes of Drag Race. We get to see their innovation, artistic style, and these episodes are often full of surprises. We often have a sense of who will do well in performing challenges but until the garment is on the runway, the tops and bottoms are always a toss-up in design challenges.

At the make-up mirror, the queens discuss the Black Lives Matter movement. LaLa Ri expresses her fear that being "a black person in this world... you can just get killed for nothing." She cries in her confessional when recalling an incident near her house in Atlanta where a black man was shot and killed by a police officer. It is very emotional to watch how much pain and fear she has around the subject. Tamisha expresses that the Trans Lives Matter movement needs more national attention. The entire conversation is beautiful and pretty revolutionary to see queer icons discussing these topics which receive very little media attention.

On the runway, we are given 36 lewks from these wonderful queens! The first category is... bags! Denali struts the runway as a crash test dummy. Incredible. Joey Jay looks truly awful. One of the lamest lewks in Drag Race herstory. LaLa Ri comes out in a dress with bones glued to it that is giving Joey a run for that title. Elliott with 2 Ts comes out as a gift bag which is very clever. Tamisha Iman is an old bag and she is selling it! It is hilarious but a bit simple. Symone gives us "fun bags." Huge breasts that pop! God bless this queen. Olivia has a boxing lewk that is similar to Symone's from a few weeks ago. Gottmik does a body bag lewk. Rosé's bagpipe lewk is excellent. Tina Burner does brown bag. The hair is high and fun but the dress is ugly. Kandy Muse looks cute but then she turns her bag into a magician's cape and that's the gag of the season! Utica gives a sickening poodle lewk.

For the second runway, Denali brings out a Cruella Deville lewk that totally slays. Joey Jay has one of her better lewks. The padding is very right and the colors are a sexy red and black (shout out to Les Miz fans). LaLa Ri's second lewk is so fun and '90s sexy. She has no wig on and shows Joey Jay how that is done. Eliott's second lewk is basic. Tamisha Iman represents a glamorous aspect of Atlanta. Symone gives a sheer lewk with a wig we have never seen on this show! Olivia Lux once again does well. Gottmik has us screaming! Her lewk would put the Sex and the City fashions to shame. It's excellent. Rosé is giving a nod to Big Business. She looks great. Tina Burner is in houndstooth looking the best she has all season. Kandy Muse has a strange hot pink lewk, but her wig is made of dollars and that is amazing.

For the final lewk that they had to make, Denali made an incredible outfit that nods to her Mexican heritage. Joey Jay looks much better than we expected. The silhouette is super fun. LaLa Ri is truly wearing one of the saddest lewks ever on Drag Race. It is a corset with paper bags... glued to it. It looks like she rolled around in the storage closet of a gift shop. Elliott with 2 Ts loos insanely good. She made that coat?? Tamisha Iman has a little too much going on in this lewk, but it's put together well. Symone's lewk is very simple but it works! Olivia Lux looks like a Chromatica dancer. Gottmik's lewk is so cool and so fashion forward. Utica has arguably the best lewk of the night with an unbelievably detailed sleeping bag dress. It is high camp and high fashion.

The top three of the week are Rosé, Utica, and Gottmik. Gottmik is declared the winner. The bottom three are Tamisha Iman, LaLa Ri, and Joey Jay. LaLa and Joey lip sync against each other and LaLa eats this one up! Her outfit falls apart as she dances but it is one heck of a lip-sync! Joey Jay sashays away.
