The Werk Room has welcomed many a funny queen throughout the 13 seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race. From traditional comediennes like Bianca Del Rio to internate personalities like Jasmine Masters and every queen in between like Willam, Monét X Change, and Trixie Mattel, Drag Race has hosted an eclectic bunch with vastly different ways of making the audience laugh.

When fans of the show are talking funny queens, there are two camps most of Drag Race's funniest queens reside in: true comedy queens and personality queens. The former are those queens who are well-versed in writing out a joke or sketch, while the latter are the queens who stood out in their season for being spontaneously hilarious.

Darienne Lake

Reading may be fundamental, but not every queen made the reading challenge look as easy as Darienne Lake. Drag Race fans can still perfectly picture the moment Darienne called BenDeLaCreme full of herself while pantomiming the process of unstacking Russian nesting dolls.

Beyond the season 6 reading challenge, Darienne showed off her comedy chops in the stand-up challenge and in her confessionals. In one of her best jokes, she compared herself to being a ninja at the gym because "you will never see me there." Post-Drag Race, Darienne is beloved by fans for her underrated roasting gigs and wise-cracking Twitter presence.

Alyssa Edwards

Alyssa Edwards has had memorable lines on RuPaul's Drag Race season 5 and season 2 of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. She's a queen whose larger-than-life personality, antics, and way of seeing the world never fail to crack fans up.

While her brand of funny tends to err on the side of unintentional, Alyssa has dished out enough one-liners on and off the show for fans to be convinced she's one of Drag Race's funniest queens. In addition, her drag interpretations of Joan Crawford and Annie Oakley had the judges, and the audience, laughing intentionally and unintentionally at her bizarre antics.

Baga Chipz

Baga Chipz was a stand-out on the first season of Drag Race UK, and not just because she made it all the way to the finale. In terms of comedy, she just did it "much betta" than her fellow contestants.

From a flawless Snatch Game performance as Margaret Thatcher to confessionals that were truly laugh-out-loud worthy, Baga served up moments dripping in comedy gold, proving UK queens can be just as funny as their American counterparts.

Jinkx Monsoon

Jinkx Monsoon is a tried and true comedy queen. Like "water off a duck's back," Jinkx's season 5 win was effortless, especially as she proved time and time again that she's a seasoned acting queen more than capable of making audiences laugh.

While her Snatch Game performance as Little Edie from the classic documentary Grey Gardens will forever and always go down in Drag Race herstory, the stand-up and Netflix specials she's gone on to do after the show only add to her comedy credentials.

Monique Heart

Facts are facts, America, and Monique Heart brought more than just the heart to season 10 and All Stars 4. In challenges, confessionals, and on the runway, she added new, hilarious phrases to the Drag Race lexicon like "brown cow stunning," which referred to one of her outfits that she thought looked like a giraffe. Monique's impact even goes beyond Drag Race, unintentionally becoming a meme queen alongside Monet for their hilarious up-and-down versus left-to-right painting conversation.

Vanessa Vanjie Mateo

Vanessa Vanjie Mateo needs no introduction, especially after her iconic exit from the main stage in season 10. Beyond being one of Drag Race's most iconic queens from Los Angeles, Vanjie is one of the show's all-around funniest contestants whose non-sequiturs and impressions have endeared her to both the judges and the Drag Race fandom. In particular, her portrayal as a manic Britney Spears fan in season 11 frequently had her fellow castmates breaking character to laugh. Vanjie's comedic skills are unintentional yet effortless and never fail to keep everyone's eyes on her when she's on the stage.

Heidi N Closet

Fan-favorite Heidi N Closet made quite the impression on fans after competing in season 12. Though one of the youngest queens on RuPaul's Drag Race, Heidi came in as a highly favored competitor with her hilarious confessionals to boot. In the "Droop" maxi challenge, Heidi successfully pitched her fake product Heidi Hydrates Multipurpose Lotion, which she hilariously revealed contained her own "sad tears of a drag queen." With a lovable personality, a great sense of humor, and a distinctly Southern charm, Heidi N Closet truly stole the show, with many fans hoping she'll return to the main stage soon for an All Stars season.

Katya Zamolodchikova

Katya Zamolodchikova is as kooky as they come, and fans love it. Between her time on season 7 and All Stars 2, Katya gave the fans what they want in terms of runway looks, acting performances, lip syncs, and truly hilarious confessionals.

Both of her seasons showed Katya is a seriously wacky queen who can effortlessly portray a Hello Kitty Russian prostitute and Suze Orman without missing a beat (or a laugh). And, despite returning to the Drag Race stage on All Stars 2 to show everyone she's a monster, Katya proved the quickest way to fans' hearts is by making them chuckle.

Jujubee

It's safe to say Jujubee was the only queen on season 2 to understand the assignment when it came to the Reading Challenge. Flash forward to All Stars 1 and 5 and she continued to make everyone laugh, making Jujuebee one of the most literate queens with some of the shadiest reads in Drag Race's herstory.

Other moments that cemented Jujubee's standing as one of the funniest queens were her cat confessionals. For example, instead of discussing which lipstick she was going to pick on All Stars 5, Jujubee chatted about how much she missed her cats. This honest and humorous obsession with her pets endeared the queen to the audience and made her a legitimate fan-favorite in that season.

Alaska

Drag queen Alaska portrays Mae West during the Snatch Game on RuPaul's Drag Race.

Alaska's All Stars 2 win might still be hotly debated amongst Drag Race fans, but her comedy is not. Most viewers are in agreement: Alaska is one of the funniest queens to have competed on the show and her victory on All Stars 2 is a testament to just how funny she can be on the show.

Alaska is a queen who boasts a funny personality and a comedic wit that helped her stand out on both season 5 and All Stars 2. In particular, her profane impression of Mae West in Snatch Game had RuPaul laughing so hard, he had no choice to give her the win for that challenge. Not to mention, her signature Alaska voice--dry, acerbic, and sarcastic--only earns her extra chuckles from anyone who has the good fortune to hear it.

Bob The Drag Queen

No one does comedy like Bob The Drag Queen. Whether it's a season 8 challenge, an episode of Sibling Rivalry, a YouTube video, or a stand-up special, Bob knows how to turn a comedic number.

As soon as she entered the Werk Room and pretended to swim on top of the table, it became a no-brainer: Bob is an expert at making people laugh. Her hilarious impersonation of Carol Channing in Snatch Game was impressive in both its accuracy and its bawdy humor. Bob is also a pro at setting up a witty punchline, which only helped her stand out further as the frontrunner walking purse first to the crown.
