RuPaul is looking for the next Aussie or Kiwi drag superstar on RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under, but Ru already found one way back in season six — Courtney Act. Some fans were disappointed by the premiere of the Down Under spin-off, and it could be because they’ve already seen an amazing drag queen from Australia. Courtney Act lit up the runway on her season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and clearly paved the way for the Down Under cast.

In season six, Courtney Act was a frontrunner from the beginning. The Australian queen previously competed on Australian Idol, the international spin-off of American Idol, and brought her impressive vocal skills to RuPaul’s Drag Race. On season six, Courtney Act made it to the top three but lost out to Bianca Del Rio. However, Courtney Act’s show-stopping performances and undeniable talent have left an indelible mark on Drag Race herstory.

On the inaugural season of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under, the queens are competing to win the title of Australia’s Drag Superstar, but there’s been no mention of OG-superstar Courtney Act. She was the original Aussie to grace the Drag Race runway, and she made a big impact. With her amazing voice and showmanship, Courtney Act is one of the best performers the franchise has ever seen. Courtney Act has also delivered some of the most iconic looks on the show and is one of the most memorable queens from the franchise.

Courtney Act proved during season six that she is a superstar and one of the best drag queens in Australia. The cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under has big shoes to fill if they’re going to measure up to Courtney Act. She paved the way for all the Aussie (and Kiwi) queens who will now compete for the crown. If Courtney Act were to join the international spin-off, she would surely dominate the competition, as she has already demonstrated that she has what it takes to make it to the grand finale.

There’s been a lot of excitement from fans going into the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under, but it’s important to give credit to the queen who first brought Australian drag to viewers. Courtney Act is a true original, and the cast of the new spin-off had better bring their A-game if they want to live up to the legend herself.
