Canada's Drag Race season 2 was kicked off with Brooke Lynn Hytes finally becoming the central figure on the show and new judges Brad Goreski and Amanda Brugel doing all they can to course-correct the first season's controversial judging style. As 12 new queens entered the Canada's Drag Race werkroom, some of them are clearly much more well-known and well-connected than others. Of note, Gia Metric seemed like the Tynomi Banks of the season - as in, the queen with a big reputation that everyone is aware of.

Alas, there were other queens who also stood out during their first few minutes on the show. For instance, Océane Aqua-Black, Beth, and Suki Doll brought all their high energy and infectious charisma to Drag Race. Meanwhile, Icesis Couture, Pythia, and Adriana already seem like they will be tough competitors this season. Other interesting characters for fans to keep up with include Eve 6000, Kendall Gender, and Stephanie Prince, as it is clear that certain storylines are being set up for those Canada's Drag Race contestants.

The first maxi challenge of Canada's Drag Race season 2 was a design challenge where the queens had to turn "left-behind clothes" into grand premiere eleganza outfits. Beth looked immediately unsure of herself, whereas Océane brought up her injured knee and gave fans some PTSD from watching Victoria Scone get sent out of RuPaul's Drag Race UK season 3 due to an injury. Despite all the upfront talk about Gia, she was much more nervous about this first challenge than some might've expected her to be. Meanwhile, Pythia, Icesis, and Adriana didn't hesitate even for a second before they hit the ground running.

On the main stage, Brooke Lynn Hytes (or Mother Broo, if you will) has taken over the hosting duties on Canada's Drag Race season 2. The judges were awe-struck by Icesis, Suki, and Stephanie on the runway, and as expected, those were this week's top three queens. On the other hand, Beth, Eve, and Gia got the harshest critiques from the judges and landed in the bottom three. In the Untucked section of the episode, the queens recognized how much praise Icesis received from the judges. A nervous Beth was brought to tears upon realizing that she didn't shine through during this challenge. In the end, Icesis was ultimately chosen as the winner of this week's challenge, while Beth and Gia landed in the bottom two and had to lip sync for their lives.

Both queens had disappointing lip sync performances to "Maneater" by Nelly Furtado. However, Gia did just enough to save herself and stay in the competition. As a result, Beth became the first-eliminated queen of the season, and her hilarious confessionals will be missed!
