RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 6 has been full of jaw-dropping Ruveals and shady confessionals. The season has left fans gooped and gagged about all the twists and turns of this high-stakes competition. Of course, Drag Race is known not just for the queens' fashion sense and talent, but also for their snappy remarks and dramatic fights.
This season, the talented cast has definitely put on an entertaining show, not just through their challenge performances, but through their disagreements in The Werk Room, sickening lip-syncs (and lip-sync fails), and their dramatic eliminations. While all of these moments were entertaining, some have been shocking enough to wow even the most die-hard fans.
The Drama Paradox
In the third episode, "Side Hustles," Ginger Minj, Jan, A'keria C. Davenport, and Silky Nutmeg Ganache formed a team that had too many ideas for its own good. Silky was obviously concerned when her three teammates came up with one crazy idea after another for their Rent-A-Queen commercial. She goes along with it because she doesn't want to cause any drama, as she was clocked for being "obnoxious" during Season 11. In her confessional, she said: "If the team want to play 10 characters ... for a 45-second thing, I’ll just make it work."
Unfortunately, this was the wrong move for Silky. In her efforts to avoid drama, she became the center of it during the challenge. She wasn't able to make her three lines work, with A'keria even taking one of those lines due to Silky's wardrobe malfunction. Silky's rationale behind wanting to be more of a team player made sense, but at the same time, it caused her to fade into the background.
Don't Question The Choreo
Despite being one of the most experienced competitors on this season, Pandora Boxx isn't known for being one of the dancing queens of Drag Race. Or, as Kylie put it, "Pandora has years of… years." This was especially evident in episode 7, "Show Up Queen," when Pandora was the last picked for a team with Jan, Ra'Jah O'Hara, and Trinity K. Bonet, all of whom are comfortable as dancers. With TKB taking the lead on the choreography, Pandora started to struggle. Ginger was watching from the sidelines and (being Ginger), spoke her mind, teaching Trinity a thing or two about choreography.
A heated exchange between TKB and Ginger ensued and ended up being one of the most unforgettable fights of the season. Ginger's comment did end up helping the team, however, as Trinity and the rest of the queens turned their attention to Pandora and encouraged her to have fun. A lighthearted dance party with everyone cheering "Go, Pandy! Go, Pandy!" was the perfect ending to this tense moment.
A Game Within A Game
Nobody ever wants to be one of the first-eliminated queens on Drag Race, and this was no different for Serena ChaCha. Unfortunately, her weak performance during the variety show meant she would be the first queen to get the chop this season. After the music played, the queens exited, and the screen faded to black. However, a mysterious jingle started to play along with the words "ONE HOUR LATER."
The catchy tune is one that fans would continue to hear at the end of this seasons episodes as it's revealed to each eliminated queen that, for this season, there's a mysterious "game within a game" that they can stay and play. Serena's shocked reaction was likely echoed by thousands of fans during that dramatic Ruveal. While nobody knows yet what it all means, Serena, along with the other eliminated queens so far, definitely want to play this game.
Congratulations, Trinity
After their tiring "side hustle" challenge, the queens couldn't wait to get back into The Werk Room to figure out who they should send home. Ginger, A'keria, Silky, and Jan all immediately started pleading their cases and explaining why they didn't deserve to be in the bottom. The show then cut to a silent Trinity K. Bonet, who had just won the challenge. "Do y'all see me?" she asked. Trinity, who had already expressed insecurities about feeling overlooked in the competition, was upset that nobody was congratulating her for her first win as they had for all the previous challenge winners.
And what a well-deserved win it was. Trinity's challenge performance during that episode was surprisingly hilarious, and she even capped it off with a stunning look for Rudemption Runway. None of the other queens had much of a defense when TKB called them out for ignoring her. Thankfully, Ra'Jah stepped in at just the right moment and asked the group to congratulate TKB.
Refusing To Beg
In episode 4, "Halftime Headliners," Yara Sofia doesn't quite hit the mark with her impersonation of Shakira. The judges loved it from the neck down, but her face was stiff and disconnected from the belly dancing. When it was time for Yara to plead her case and explain why she deserved to stay, however, she refused to "beg" the other girls for her spot.
Yara's attitude towards the competition mechanics placed the other girls in a difficult spot. Ra'Jah put it perfectly in her confessional when she said, "OK, girl, that’s all you got?" With A'keria conversely defending her own case with earnesty, it wasn't surprising that the queens ultimately sent Yara packing.
An Assassin's Entrance
Following TKB's first win in episode 3, she had to face off against a lip-sync assassin in order to win a cash tip and the power to send a queen home. Everyone was excited as the curtain started to roll up slowly to reveal... absolutely no one. The other queens and the judges looked gagged for a few seconds, wondering where the assassin was. Then, in one of the best Ruveals of the show, Laganja Estranja leaped from the top of the door and landed in an impressive split.
Laganja's entrace had everyone in the room, not to mention viewers, absolutely gooped. It became an instantly iconic Drag Race moment that no fan will soon forget. This wasn't all that Laganja had up her sleeve, however, as her performance of Dua Lipa’s "Physical" was just as jaw-dropping as her entrance. It won't be shocking if fans increase their demands for her appearance in a future All Stars season.
Wig Snatched
While lip-syncing for her legacy against assassin Alexis Mateo in episode 7, Trinity had an awkward moment when her wig fell off in the middle of her performance. There was visible confusion on her face as she struggled to regain composure and start to "Dance Again" to J. Lo's song.
TKB's confusion and obvious discomfort after her wig malfunction were far too evident, likely making viewers at home feel the same. It was a similar problem that put her in the bottom during the first episode, where she stumbled during her stand-up performance in the talent show. All TKB had to do was own it, confidently laugh it off, make it seem intentional, or even pick up the wig and dance with it – anything but an uncomfortable, awkward reaction to a wardrobe malfunction (that happens all the time).
The Face Crack Is Back
After TKB's lip-sync fail against Alexis, Jan and Pandora's fates were placed in Alexis Mateo's, and the other queens, hands. When Alexis pulled out Pandora's lipstick, Jan turned to her competitor and began to hug her. But in the gag of the season, Alexis revealed that she held two lipsticks. Jan's face cracked for the second time this season as the tie vote gave the power to eliminate a queen back to Trinity, who who had chosen Jan to send home.
Jan's reaction turned into a callback to her losing the Ru-sical challenge in season 12. Her "face crack of the century" has earned her a spot among other Drag Race queens who were wrongfully robbed. With her fans falling in love with Jan's energy and peppy personality, her dramatic sendoff during All Stars will likely have viewers clamoring to see her on the stage again.
