RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 6 starts with a bang! Some fans online were not thrilled when this cast was announced, but this first episode is a lot of fun. It showcases the wackiness of old-school Drag Race favorite Yara Sofia.

As the queens enter the Werk Room, there are feelings of excitement seeing Yara Sofia, Trinity K. Bonet, Ginger Minj, and Kylie Sonique Love walk in. There is also a sinking feeling of dread watching certain queens re-enter, as some of these girls were hard to watch in their initial season. Moreover, there is a large batch of season 11 queens, which is often regarded as the worst season of all time. One of the contestants from season 11 shows up in a big way in this episode, and it all starts with the library opening for the 13 contestants on All Stars 6.

Kylie Sonique Love is a queen that many fans are thrilled to see back. There is more trans representation on this season than ever before, and Kylie is looking better than ever. She reads Ginger Minj saying,“B*tch you are shaped like a deep breath.” It is such a specific and hilarious read. Eureka also gets a great read on Jiggly Caliente. She says, “Jiggly... more like sags and droops now.” In turn, Pandora Boxx slays with “Eureka O’Hara from HBO's We’re Here. We wish you weren’t.” The undeniable queen to beat and best comedic presence of the season is Ginger Minj, who says: “This cast, Ru? My cholesterol is higher than your standards.” Unsurprisingly, Ginger wins the first mini-challenge. The queens are then informed that this season will be a game within a game, but are given no details on what that means.

The dolls are asked to do the usual first challenge in a season of All Stars: the talent show. Most of the queens have figured out at this point that they can just lip-sync to their own songs. It is the safest choice and indeed most of the girls who did that are safe this week. Alas, some queens took bigger risks that really paid off. Raja O'Hara sews a dress and puts it on in under one minute. It is brilliantly planned out and very smartly done. It lands her in the top this week, which is certainly a shock after her performance on Drag Race season 11. Other queens take risks that do not pan out well. Trinity K. Bonet does a stand-up comedy routine that fails from the moment she starts speaking. Trinity did well in the comedy challenge of season 6, but she falters on her words at the top, and her confidence dips. Doing a stand-up routine during the COVID-19 era (when there is no audience to perform for) was a very bad decision and, unfortunately, it lands this fan-favorite in the bottom two.

The top three are Raja O'Hara, Pandora Boxx, and Yara Sofia. Yara is one of the whackiest queens to ever grace the stage of RuPaul's Drag Race. Her entire talent is just shaking giant prosthetic boobs and it is one of the funniest things to ever happen on Drag Race. It is totally stupid and absolutely drag. Yara wins the first challenge, which means that she must lip-sync against a lip-sync assassin. If Yara wins, she picks who goes home. If the assassin wins, it is up to the group vote. The Lip Sync Assassin is the legend Coco Montrese. It is nice to see a true lip-sync assassin, unlike some of the queens they brought back for All Stars 5. Coco wins the lip-sync and Serena Cha Cha is picked by the group to sashay away. But just as she has packed her bags, Mother RuPaul tells her that this game is not over yet. There may be a format switch-up on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 6.
