When it comes to RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, it’s sometimes hard to keep up with all the comings and goings of the show’s many fabulous queens. The performers who are chosen for this ’”best in show” competition are not only good enough to make it through Ru’s rigorous screening process, but they are given a second chance to come back and prove that they truly have what it takes to win the crown, even after “sashaying away!” The thing is, some of these queens maybe shouldn’t have been given the opportunity to return, while others should have won the first time around. And now, in All Stars, we find a number of these super-talented glam gals who for some reason seem to remain on the show well past their shelf life, while others get eliminated far too quickly.

Fans of the show can get VERY touchy about this subject. After all, it does come down to personal taste. But some queens are easier to write off than others, and some you just wish would never step off the stage. While we cannot always understand why the judges make the choices that they do, we are here to cast judgment on their judgments! How dare they kick so many wonderful ladies off the show? And why make us deal with some of the more intolerable divas? Ready for some of our most difficult choices? Here’s RuPaul: 10 Queens Who Were Eliminated From All Stars Too Soon (And 10 Who Stayed Too Long)

Too Soon: Tammie Brown

Tammie Brown is perhaps the greatest lost gem of all of Drag Race. She's a surrealist eccentric that you're never quite sure is putting you on or might actually BE the bizarre person behind the even more bizarre persona. Between her wacky wigs and those off-the-wall, RuPaul-bating comebacks, viewers just never knew what to expect. Teamed with Nina Flowers on the controversial season of All Stars that paired contestants up in order to compete (and be eliminated) together, they both were forced to sashay away as a team. But based just on sheer originality, pure fun, and boundless creativity, they deserved to go a lot further. Given more time, fans could have really seen what is underneath the depths of Ms. Brown’s completely unique mind. In the end, maybe Tammie's pithy remarks to Ru as well as her uncompromising style could have had something to do with her early exit.

Too Long: Mimi Imfurst

All Stars had that crazy first season where queens were paired up together, which although many thought was unfair, still made for some incredibly compelling reality TV. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. And when it came to Mimi and Pandora Boxx, let’s face it: they were a terrible team, to begin with. The two already didn't like each other from their previous experiences together on Season 3 of Drag Race. Not sure why? Go back and take a look at Mimi’s behavior (something we’d rather not revisit). So it probably wasn't a good idea to bring her back at all. But to make that choice worse, the show paired her with Pandora – who was clearly very aggravated about it. They both wouldn't have looked so bad were it not for this episode. We wish Mimi would have exited sooner.

Too Soon: Nina Flowers

Right in line with the total unfairness of the early elimination of Tammie Brown is her partner’s equally untimely demise from All Stars: the great Nina Flowers. This is a queen who came in second place to Season One winner BeBe Zahara Benét and also won the Miss Congeniality prize. Yes, she came far but she really should have gone farther in All Stars. Her outrageously high-concept looks slew almost everyone in the competition. Her makeup game was far more skilled than most of the other queens, which makes total sense: she's a longtime professional makeup artist. Had she won, she also could have been the first Puerto Rican queen to win All Stars. Paired with Tammie Brown, their power-punch duo of crazy Avante Garde originality was very under-appreciated.

Too Long: Pandora Boxx

As already discussed, Pandora was not a fan of Mimi. She already had it out for Ms. Imfurst after finding out the show had hoisted her then arch-enemy upon her. But once they were paired together at least Mimi tried to keep being positive, talking about ideas for their challenge, and even publicly apologizing to Pandora for what happened previously on Drag Race. But Pandora didn't want any of it, and it clearly showed throughout their entire teaming. This all made her look bitter and created an aura of underwhelming energy to her performance. It probably would have been better to have not had either of these grudge-bearing queens back on – and certainly not together! Or maybe, Ru, you should have had them appear on All Stars - but just during separate seasons!

Too Soon: Latrice Royale

Latrice Royale with her hair up, face close-up, smiling on the stage of RuPaul's Drag Race

Many RPDR queens have their passionate fan base, no doubt. But it may be that Latrice Royale’s fans are among the most vocal, vigorous, and loyal for this lovable, plus-sized queen. Having definitely been eliminated far too soon, Latrice's faithful followers practically screamed out in agreement. Despite her superb acting and comedic skills which were second to none (and clearly being one of the show’s highlights in terms of sheer performance), she still somehow fell short. This was the contestant which virtually everyone fell in love with. And what’s not to love? Her cuddly, phrase-clocking personality teamed with her larger-than-life looks has won many hearts. And talk about a rags-to-riches story! Amazing talent combined with her positive attitude and fierce determination – she should have gone all the way. Her elimination along with her teammate (and good friend), Manila Luzon, was all too soon.

Too Long: Phi Phi O'Hara

Phi Phi O'Hara RuPaul Drag Race

Ah, Phi Phi O’Hara. Truly, she is the one queen that everyone loves to hate! After earning a bad reputation with her petulant behavior on Season 4 of RPDR, she got a second chance. But her “Ru-demption” did not go anywhere near as planned when she was brought back for All Stars. Invited back for her phenomenal costume and makeup skills (especially her mind-blowing cosplay) and her surprising comedic acting abilities, her flaws were excused. But despite all of her talents, Phi Phi's petty personality dominated everything she did on and off camera. So how did she react to her second elimination on All Stars? By publicly coming out against the series and RuPaul, blaming editing and other queens for her poor performances. It got so bad that Miss Ru even unfollowed her on Twitter, ouch!

Too Soon: Manila Luzon

What is it that should win a hard-fought competition? Originality or conformity? Youngblood, or a tried-and-true track record of success? When it comes to Manila Luzon, one of the most seasoned and insightful drag queens on Drag Race All Stars, we would argue that the wisdom which comes with experience should have counted for more. She’s a strikingly beautiful, dramatic, and quirky performer, whose intelligent, fun personality won her a whole lot of fans the world over. Reeling in adoration with her witty Snatch Game wins and smartsy, artsy performances, it’s a real head-scratcher why she wasn’t allowed to at least advance a little further than the judges allowed her. Teamed with Latrice Royale, their personalities together were inspirational – just not inspirational enough for SOME people, it would seem!

Too Long: Roxxxy Andrews

Gurrrrrl, it’s many a Drag Race fan who loves them some Roxxxy Andrews! But while this poised and pretty pageant princess was looking to grab the winning crown based upon her own gifts, she ultimately was given the “friend” treatment by eventual winner Alaska. Although choosing to kick out far superior queens like Alyssa Edwards, Tatianna and Ginger Minj, Roxxxy’s pal let her stick around in a clear case of favorites – or, a clear case of lending Alaska a cute top that helped her win a challenge. Of course, while Roxxxy's style and spirit certainly evolved and she had some amazing looks that emphasized her phenomenal style, she just wasn't quite on the same levels as her competitors. Sure, we know that’s what friends are for but all's not fair in love and drag, right?

Too Soon: Adore Delano

Adore Delano RuPaul Drag Race

Let’s face it, Drag Race All Stars fans! Everyone adores Adore! The young, sassy lady from Azusa was a former American Idol contestant (as a boy!) and her amazing pipes won the All Stars singing competitions hands-down. While her vox chops were undeniable by all, her funky 90s looks didn't impress the judges nearly as much. Neither did her winning personality touch them as much as it clearly has touched the fans. Fact is, in one of the most surprising moves on the show at the time, it was she herself who chose to leave the competition early. She actually turned her back on the contest and sashayed herself away! Which naturally disappointed her fans, as everyone was following her changing looks and vulnerable, honest personality with extreme devotion. We think she could have easily won, or, at least reinvented herself even further in front of our ever Adore-ing eyes!

Too Long: BeBe Zahara Benet

Bebe Zahara Benet Drag Race

Cameroooooon! The classy Miss BeBe is the original winner from the very beginning. Crowned at the end of Season 1 of Drag Race, many fans missed out on the season in real time, not getting the chance to watch BeBe really do her stuff back then. But on All Stars, some of us were underwhelmed by her always beautiful (but often similar) looks. On top of that, her stiff acting abilities and so-so Snatch Game performance left viewers wondering how in the heck she ever made it in the first place! Coming off with a somewhat “frosty” aristocratic attitude also put off a big chunk of the audience. The lady Beebs just didn't really seem to have the overall charisma, nerve, and developed talent to keep herself on All Stars longer than the other more versatile and entertaining contemporary queens.

Too Soon: Ginger Minj

Step aside, RuPaul fans and make way for the Glamour Toad! This is the strikingly UNglamorous nickname for the ever-glorious Ginger Minj, which she wears as a badge of honor. Ginger's powerful pipes and biting wit made her a fierce contender which could have easily knocked a shock into fans of musical movies like Lady Gaga’s A Star Is Born. Many passionate fans were hoping for the unapologetically plus-sized salty southern belle to be the first “big girl” to win. And very well she should have! She had the acting chops, the polished runway looks, and the indisputably oversized personality to go much farther than just three episodes – the point at which she was eliminated. Note to RuPaul: there’s lots to love when it comes to Ginger Minj, so please give her lots more time on the show!

Too Long: Morgan McMichaels

It was hard to understand exactly what it was about Morgan McMichaels that made her good enough to land a spot on RPDR or All Stars. We dislike being so judgmental as we never got to see too much of her either on Drag Race or All Stars. But whatever it was that all of the other queens rave and admire about her – truly, she was almost universally adored by her peers – it just didn't quite shine through on the show. Talented and beautiful? She was for sure. But maybe a bit too direct and real for the All Stars audience. We don’t want to throw too much shade here, but it was a bummer seeing her place higher than the ever-evolving, always adorable, and hardworking Shangela.

Too Soon: Thorgy Thor

It would not be an exaggeration to say that a whole lot of RPDR fans were totally rooting for Thorgy Thor. After seeing her disappointing elimination on Drag Race Season 8, many thought there was much more to be seen from her. Musically, she is tough to beat as she's an extremely accomplished classical violinist, even having performed at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. Her unique, Brooklyn 'fashion clown' style was a fresh, vibrant change from the usual “pretty girl” runway looks we see too often, so she was a much-welcomed addition to the All Stars party. And boy did she bring the party! Even though she might have been eliminated too soon for her lackluster Stevie Nicks portrayal (and the sour grapes that she expressed afterward), there was still so much more of her colorful self to be uncovered – possibly enough to even have snatched the crown!

Too Long: Milk

Some people like Milk in their tea, but not everyone! While she may be an amazing visual artist, there’s a central problem with Milk: she's not really quite a drag queen. Yes, we have absolutely eaten up her very creative and haute couture-oriented looks and pop culture vibe. But her arrogant personality was a bit off-putting and she never displayed any of the “inner qualities” which Ru herself has always championed as personifying drag culture. Don’t forget – it’s not just about men throwing on a dress. It’s a commitment to an ethos and lifestyle which one deeply identifies with. And Milk never seemed to fit that tradition. She was definitely kept on too long, probably due to the shallow aspects of the fashion world that many of the All Stars judges come from.

Too Soon: Chi Chi DeVayne

The original "Drag On A Dime" queen! Ever since she first made it onto Drag Race, there has always been a strong contingent of Chi Chi fans. And yet she had no real drag career before winning a spot on the show. Coming from a poorer background, this Louisiana lass had the sass to enter the workroom in a dress literally made from a trash bag. Unable to afford big looks nor fancy productions, she always seemed to get lost amongst the glitter & glitz of the more seasoned queens who had bigger bank accounts or the rumored support of sugar daddies. It was a tragedy to see her go so early, especially since she had come so far both in life and in our love for her. She deserved a chance to show us how far she’s come.

Too Long: Gia Gunn

Sorry (not sorry), but we will never understand why Gia Gunn was invited back to All Stars. It might have something to do with the fact that not only was she one of the first-ever transgender woman to openly compete on the show as herself. Historical milestones aside, Gia's stint on season 6 of Drag Race proved her to be very egotistical. She came back to All Stars only to try – and unfortunately succeed! – in sabotaging her supposed “friend” Pharrah Moan's confidence, which resulted in Pharrah's elimination. If that wasn’t bad enough, she turned in mediocre performances all around, wasting the opportunity she had stolen from another. She has a few cool looks, but overall her expiration date was like 5 years ago.

Too Soon: Farrah Moan

Dear oh dear - Little Farrah just tries SO DARNED HARD. At first, many Drag Race fans didn't like her seemingly ditzy persona very much. But once invited back to All Stars, she immediately won a large portion of the audience over with her irresistible sweetness and heartfelt earnestness. Her looks are unbelievably stunning and well-designed, and her vintage Barbie-meets-Dita Von Teese choreography blew viewers away. All seemed to be going well for her, when in one terrible moment, she accidentally slipped on the fabric that she had draped around the stage. She fell and fell hard! The unfortunate event diminished her already compromised confidence, due to the evil back-biting by supposed "friend" Gia Gunn. Farrah was deeply shaken and was eliminated. It's hard to tell what her full potential is, but this young queen deserves another chance to shine!

Too Long: Naomi Smalls

Naomi Smalls is no doubt a gorgeous glamazon queen with legs, legs, legs that can go on for days! And boy does she ever know how to serve 'em. But when it comes to a well-rounded performer, we really would prefer the whole animal. Over-relying on just one strong anatomical feature should not be enough to get a queen through. Naomi seems sweet and talented enough, but her acting skills are mediocre, her monotone singing abilities are worse and although she's definitely grown, she keeps serving the same old boring supermodel shtick 24/7. The lack of variety she brings can’t hold a candle to far stronger gals like Manila or Valentina. A Vogue look alone does not an All Star make, she should have gone home way sooner than she did.

Too Soon: Valentina

It’s fair to say that some weren’t fans of Latina diva Valentina and her somewhat inflated ego...at first. She had never done drag before Drag Race and was probably the youngest competitor ever, but her confidence was proven to be warranted as she took to the stage. Fortunately, her self-absorption toned down a bit over the course of her Drag Race stint. On All Stars, her incredibly fashion-forward yet often vintage-inspired runway looks and performances were a pleasure to behold, reflecting a style and knowledge far beyond her years. And let’s not forget her pro-level singing and dancing talents, which could give any pop star a run for their money (and career!) Given the opportunity, Valentina really has the all-around talent to be the next Shakira or Selena or...beyond!

Too Long: Latrice Royale

Yes, we know – we’ve put Latrice on BOTH the “too soon” and “too long” lists. Let us explain. Unquestionably, she is a top fave and most likely THE most dearly beloved of all queens everywhere. But in the 4th season of All Stars, she badly stumbled. Maybe her new veneers gave her more confidence, but they also seem to have “dragged” her down. Latrice's once always sweet, gentle personality started showing cracks and turned vitriolic. At one point, she even tore into Gia Gunn on-camera and kept complaining all throughout the episode. Her humble spirit seems to have mutated a bit while her runway looks remained uninspired. Monique Heart was right to finally send her home. We know she'll eventually return to her fabulously fierce self, so here's some cheers to seeing the Latrice we all know and love once again!
