As characters from Marvel TV shows like Daredevil have been reintroduced to the MCU in Hawkeye and Spider-Man: No Way Home, it seems more likely than ever that other TV-exclusive characters could also make a comeback.

Though it was envisioned as part of the world, whether or not the Runaways series is currently classified as part of the MCU is still debated, but bringing the characters back after their Hulu show was canceled in 2019 would give them a chance to tell new stories and interact with other heroes. There are many ways Marvel could go about doing this, and fans over at Reddit have got lots of suggestions.

Nico Minoru In Doctor Strange

Redditor Lambdakastel theorized that Nico's link to the Dark Dimension means "Doctor Strange would be a good place" for her return to the MCU.

Nico's connection to the Dark Dimension was shown in Runaways through her manipulation of that place's magic, a realm that was ruled over by Doctor Strange's enemy Dormamu. As the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will see the sorcerer team up with Scarlet Witch to face a new threat, additional magic support in the form of Nico and her Staff of One would fit right into the story.

Through Kate Bishop

Kate Bishop In Disney+ Hawkeye Series

Using a recently established MCU hero to great effect, Redditor MisterSnapz noted that by sending "Kate Bishop to the West Coast", she'd have an opportunity to meet the whole Runaways team.

Drawing from an aspect of Kate Bishop's history that only comic book fans know about, this suggestion would have Kate move across the country to LA, where she has an on-the-page history as both a private investigator and leader of the West Coast Avengers. Being stationed there in the MCU would give Kate the time to grow as an individual hero, and the chance to meet these fellow young heroes.

Alex Wilder In Ironheart

Among OP Jkorytkowski001's own suggestions for the reappearance of the teen heroes was the idea that "Alex [could appear] in Secret Invasion or Ironheart".

The end of Runaways left Alex and most other members of his team as college-age teens (after some time travel in the show's final episode), it would make sense for the tech genius to attend a school like M.I.T., where Ironheart protagonist Riri Williams also goes in the comics, and will likely be seen at in her upcoming series.

Karolina Dean In Guardians Of The Galaxy

Karolina uses her powers in Runaways

After her alien heritage was uncovered in Runaways, it seems that "Karolina in GoTG", as wished for by Redditor Jkorytkowski001, would be a great fit.

Having been taught that she is half-Gibborim, learning about her family, and watching her baby sister Elle leave Earth under the care of Xavin, it would be only natural that Karolina's curiosity could lead her into outer space, perhaps aided by Nico's magic. If this were the case, an appearance in a future Guardians of the Galaxy story could give Karolina the closure that she deserves.

Nico In Agatha Harkness' Series

In response to chepocarrot604's wish for a "Nico and Wanda team up", Jkorytkowski001 suggested that "Nico Minoru for Agatha: House Of Harkness" would do the trick.

Seeing witches from different magical backgrounds going head to head would make for a thrilling storyline in the upcoming WandaVision spin-off, and with fans hoping that characters who show up in Agatha Harkness' series include Scarlet Witch, a fusion of Wanda's chaos magic and Nico's Staff of One-channeled powers would prove immensely powerful.,

Molly Hernandez In An X-Men Story

Molly in Runaways

With her superhuman strength and powers of invulnerability, Jkorytkowski001's reasoning that"Molly... in Mutants" stories would work has great potential.

There have been many theories about how the Mutants will be introduced to the MCU, but bringing along a few already-familiar faces from Marvel's TV shows could help their establishment feel more natural. Given that Molly is a Mutant in the comics, she would be a great candidate for this expansion of the world, and it would be relatively easy to alter the origins of her powers on-screen, perhaps due to interference of the Multiverse.

A Runaways Movie

The Runaways team in their Marvel TV show

Instead of bringing the Runaways team back as part of another character's story, Redditor mcon96 believes that "The MCU is ripe for a Runaways movie, as they're intentionally isolated from the larger MCU."

Given the show's setting in LA, its only-tangential references to the wider world of the MCU, and that the only character crossover in the series was with the stars of Cloak & Dagger, a movie could prove fruitful for the Runaways characters, giving them the freedom to continue their adventures without being relegated to a supporting cast.

Xavin In Secret Invasion

Xavin in Runaways

Given their comic book status as a Skrull, the re-appearance of "Xavin in Secret Invasion", as Jkorytkowski001 also proposed, has merit for how it honors the origins of the character.

Although Xavin left Earth at the conclusion of Runaways, taking Karolina's baby sister Elle along with them and acting as her protector, a return could be possible if they felt it part of their sacred duty. Given that Xavin is on the humans' side during the comic book events of Secret Invasion, the Disney+ show could benefit from also having aliens fighting for humanity, and Xavin's powers make them a valuable ally, even if they are not depicted as a Skrull.

The Runaways Meet The Young Avengers

Redditor Uncanny_Doom was one of several people who commented that if the Runaways came back it would feel "right to have them interact with the Young Avengers" after they have assembled.

With many potential Young Avengers already in the MCU, including Kate Bishop and Eli Bradley, it's likely that Marvel is building towards a future Young Avengers project, and the Runaways share a comic book history with the other group of young superheroes, as they teamed up during the Civil War event, and in Secret Invasion. This lineup would allow for both funny and powerful dynamics, showcasing the best of both groups.

Chase Stein In Armor Wars

Jkorytkowski001 also posed the idea of seeing "Chase in Armor Wars."

An upcoming Disney+ series, Armor Wars will focus on Rhodey after the death of Tony Stark. With the robotic gauntlets 'the Fistigons' as his main weapon, which in the Runaways show are Chase's own creation, the character's interest in (and talent for) armored tech is made clear, providing a plausible through-line for his appearance alongside Rhodey.
