Twitch has permanently banned former Rooster Teeth member Ryan Haywood from its platform following an attempted comeback. Back in October, it was revealed that Haywood had been cheating on his wife and grooming young Rooster Teeth fans for some time.

Originally Haywood proclaimed that while the allegations were true, he maintained that he had not done anything illegal. As time went on, more and more allegations came out and it was learned that Haywood was sending inappropriate messages and photos to underaged fans, as well as having sex with them. With more stories, screenshots, and photos continuing to mount, Haywood left Rooster Teeth and has been quiet since.

Earlier this month, Haywood sent out a letter on Twitch to subscribers, revealing his intentions of returning to the platform. But, after pushback from several of Haywood's former Rooster Teeth co-stars, he has been permanently banned from the site according to StreamerBans on Twitter. StreamerBans also revealed that Haywood was no longer partnered with Twitch. Among the many allegations against the former streamer, it was learned that Haywood also targeted his own mods/managers on both YouTube and Twitch.

Per another tweet from eSports insider Slasher (a.k.a. Rod Breslau), Twitch has made no official comment on Haywood's situation at this time. Hours after Haywood announced that he was planning a return to Twitch, one of his former co-stars Lindsay Jones tweeted directly at Twitch and Twitch support writing, "This man is a sexual abuser who used and preyed on his audience. He should not have a platform." Around the same time, another former co-star, Fiona Nova added,

"This person has fully, 100% used your platform to groom fans (even cases with minors). This all came to light about 4 months ago and has been going on, from what we know, since 2017. No, he should NOT have an audience, or a public platform."

Twitch has had a hectic week, to say the least, with Haywood's announcement coming out the same week as rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol, which ultimately led to the removal of the original PogChamp emote. Later that same week, the platform also banned then-sitting U.S. President Donald Trump, due to his role in the insurrection. While the last few weeks have been toxic and tiring for some aspects of Twitch, it has not been all bad.

Recently, streamer Grefg broke several Twitch viewership records during Fortnite skin reveal, which prompted an outpouring of congratulations, including a video from Dr. Disrespect where he congratulated his fellow streamer on their accomplishment. It has been a very tumultuous year for Twitch so far, but hopefully, the platform sees more positivity going forward.
