Tommy Wiseau, star, writer, executive producer, and director of the cult movie, The Room, has joked about why he hasn’t been cast in Knives Out 2 yet. Knives Out, directed by Rian Johnson, was a hugely successful 2019 comedy murder mystery movie. It’s most famous for its all-star ensemble cast, including Daniel Craig as Detective Benoit Blanc. The success of Knives Out led to Netflix buying the franchise, and a sequel is currently in development with filming scheduled to start this summer. While Craig will be reprising his role as Detective Blanc, the sequel will focus on a whole different set of characters – meaning a whole new star-studded cast. Kate Hudson is the latest actress to be cast in Knives Out 2; she joins Kathryn Hahn, Dave Bautista, Leslie Odom Jr., Edward Norton, and Janelle Monae.

Now, The Room’s Tommy Wiseau wants in on the Knives Out action. The already exciting line-up of stars for Knives Out 2 has led to many fans putting forward who they would love to see in the murder mystery film. Screenwriter Michael H. Weber suggested Wiseau and his The Room co-star, Greg Sestero, on Twitter, leading to Wiseau calling out Hollywood for being “afraid” of their clear star power. See the tweet below:

The Room is beloved by cult movie fans everywhere for being one of the best worst films ever made. Netflix obviously aren’t fans, however, as according to Wiseau, the streaming service turned down the opportunity to add The Room to their line-up last year. Wiseau and Sestero would certainly be unconventional choices for Knives Out 2, even if those at Netflix turn out to be fans of The Room after all – but Room fans can enjoy the thought of how the infamous "I Did Not Hit Her" scene would play out in a murder mystery.
