Jersey Shore star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro got some good news when his kidnapping charges were recently dropped. But the TV personality is still facing domestic violence charges against his girlfriend, Jen Harley.

The reality TV star has been in media headlines after he was recently arrested for reportedly threatening to kill Harley. The couple's fights have escalated over the past year and resulted in Ronnie’s arrest earlier this month. The Jersey Shore Family Vacation star recently spent a month in rehab trying to learn to control his depression and alcohol addiction. On a recent episode of the hit MTV show, fans watched as Ortiz-Magro checked himself into a facility in hopes of strengthening his family. After they recently decided to call it quits on their relationship, the couple only reportedly communicate when it concerns their 17-month-old daughter, Ariana. Many fans of the reality TV star believe that Harley has led Ortiz-Magro on a downward spiral and hope he is able to return to a happy life.

But it appears some good news has come Ronnie's way after he was recently spotted at Disneyland with his daughter just days after his arrest. Law enforcement sources confirmed to TMZ that the L.A. County District Attorney's Office has decided to drop the kidnapping charge against Ortiz-Magro. The MTV star was facing 8 years in the slammer for the kidnapping charge that cops initially arrested him for. But despite the kidnapping charge getting dropped, it's said that the LAPD is working hard to charge Ronnie with felony domestic violence based on the evidence authorities have against him. If convicted, Ronnie faces upwards of 4 years in prison. However, the Jersey Shore vet could receive more good news if the domestic violence charge is dropped to a misdemeanor, landing him just a 1-year sentence instead.

Ortiz-Magro and Harley have had their hostile disputes showcased on social media for the world to see. But things reached their peak on October 4, when Ortiz-Magro was tased and arrested by Los Angeles police in the early morning hours after Harley called officers to an LA Airbnb where the couple was staying with their 18-month-old daughter. Ortiz-Magro allegedly hit Harley and chased her with a knife during a violent domestic dispute. After he refused to comply with officers when they arrived, the LAPD was forced to tase him. Ariana wasn't hurt during the conflict, but Ortiz-Magro was arrested for kidnapping and taken to jail, where he was released on bail a few hours later. Ortiz-Magro was issued an emergency protective order that forced him to stay 100 yards away from Harley until a court hearing on October 11.

Harley and Ortiz-Magro have been dating since 2017. Despite the drama that has always plagued their rocky relationship, the couple appeared happy together at the launch party for Ortiz-Magro's Verge CBD line in West Hollywood just hours before the arrest. “Honestly, even though everyone thinks we’re toxic, she really does balance me out,” Ortiz-Magro said of Harley. However, this last fight was the last straw for their relationship, and now, Ortiz-Magro says he is focused solely on his daughter.
