When Michele wakes up from her dream and joins Romy inside, the reunion appears like any other high school reunion. When Michele sees the popular girls humiliating Romy, Michele puts away their silly argument and comes to her rescue. The moment showcases the beauty of their friendship and proves that all one needs is one best friend who gets you.

After catching the two women in their Post-It lie and humiliating them in front of everyone, Romy and Michele decide to return to the reunion as themselves. Decked out in their unique clothes and a new attitude, Romy courageously tells the group off in one of the best scenes of the movie.

By the end of the film, the audience can’t help but feel joyous. After the memorable Time After Time dance sequence at the reunion, the film jumps 6 months revealing that Romy and Michele have opened up their clothing store in Los Angeles. 

Inside the store is as bright and cheerful as the two characters. As Romy and Michele work happily behind the register, Romy sends off cute parting words to a customer. The line stands out for its perfect execution by Mira Sorvino. It’s fitting and would make any loyal fan of the movie smile.

Like most 90s comedies directed at women, everything gets wrapped up in a bow and everyone gets a happy ending. Romy and Michele show off their dance moves to Cyndi Lauper, impressing the entire senior class and they get their clothing store in Melrose. 

What’s left for the two women to do but fold scarves. Romy and Michele are filled with bubbly moments of pure sweetness so it makes sense that the last scene of the movie shows the two women dressing up Janeane Garofalo’s Heather in a sunny dress and doing a mundane and silly activity like folding clothes.
