Early Access for Baldur's Gate III has shown players much of what they have to look forward to once it is fully released, including romancing the many companions such as Shadowheart. Shadowheart and Lae'zel are the grumpiest companions of the group, and it can be a bit difficult for them to like the player, especially if they are playing a good-aligned character. In particular, Shadowheart sees the world through a more noir lens, making her only want to fight for herself.

With the recent update from Larian, Inspiration, Freedom & Pacifism, players will have an easier time keeping themselves in Shadowheart's good graces. However, players may still need to cater to the way that she believes in case they screw up in other areas. Remembering that her alignment is similar to that of a true neutral to neutral evil character may help.

The only romance scene currently available in the early access happens after the player has saved the Druid Halsin from the Goblin Camp and finished the side quest Save the Refugees. This will trigger the celebration of the Tieflings at the player's campsite. As long as the player has kept within her good graces and learned about her servitude to Shar the player should be able to trigger a romantic conversation at the campsite.

To unlock more about her past and her servitude to the goddess Shar, players can look at the broken statue behind the windmill in the Blighted Village, open the Book of Gods in the Dank Crypt, or take her to the Goblin Camp and speak about the defiled ruins of the temple to Selûne. These are just a few of the places that will trigger her to speak up a bit about her feelings and her goddess.

At the celebration, players should go ahead and speak with her. She will talk about everyone's high spirits and the fact that she never thought she'd feel for someone. Players should pick either the option of Tieflings or Me. She will go on about growing to care for the Tieflings and say that it feels odd to have saved their lives. Any of the three options are fine here, though her response will vary a bit. Then she'll say that no one here debating what is right or wrong here and ask for the player to share a bottle of wine with her. Respond either with yes or ask about the bottle before saying yes.

Once the player is done speaking with everyone at the camp, head to bed and pick Shadowheart to share the night with. This will allow the player to share a bottle of wine with her at the cliffside nearby. Enjoy the scene, and learn more about this mysterious Half-Elf.
