The newest installment in the Life is Strange universe, Life is Strange: True Colors, has been released and fans are already rushing in to discover the new choices the games are known for offering. One of these choices is Alex's romance, which the player can influence throughout the game.

Life is Strange: True Colors offers players three main romantic routes. Players can choose between Steph, the record store DJ fans might remember from Life is Strange: Before the Storm, Ryan, the town’s wispy-haired park ranger, or the single life. The major story beats for Ryan's romance take place in Chapter Two.

There are a few important moments required to garner Ryan’s favor, however, simply interacting, and conversing with him whenever possible will also help. True Colors players should take every opportunity to compliment and flirt with Ryan for the best possible results between him and Alex.

Important Moments for Ryan’s Romance in Life is Strange: True Colors

Ryan and Alex Meet in Life is Strange: True Colors

Here are some important moments and tips to successfully romance Ryan in Life is Strange: True Colors:

  • In chapter two of True Colors, Steph will ask if Alex is interested in girls. If the intention is to end up with Ryan, players will want to say no. It is not a necessity to tell her no, but saying yes will push along the connection between Alex and Steph.
  • Later, when Alex, Steph, and Ryan are deciding who should flirt with Diane, players should choose Ryan as the better option. It sounds counterproductive, but he will take this as a compliment.
  • The most important decision comes during the town’s Spring Festival. There is a tradition, players will discover, of people giving the person they have feelings for a flower. Alex will have the option to give a flower to either Ryan or Steph before going onstage. If Alex gives Ryan a rose, signifying their feelings for him, he’ll ask Alex to meet him on the roof.
  • On the rooftop, during their conversation, players will be given the option to hug or kiss Ryan. Hugging Ryan essentially expresses disinterest and lets him down easy, so, this is the time to seal the partnership with a kiss.

The flower and the kiss are the most important pieces of Ryan's romantic plotline. Players can miss some earlier parts or mess up a conversation or two and still end up with the ranger if these two elements happen perfectly.
