Is classic animated series Rocko's Modern Life available on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime? Nickelodeon had quite a run of awesome animated shows during the 1990s, including Rugrats and SpongeBob Squarepants. That list wouldn't be complete without Rocko's Modern Life, which debuted in 1993 and followed the title character, a talking, immigrant wallaby who arrives in the U.S. and gets into all sorts of bizarre or nightmarish situations while trying to live a regular life.

Other Rocko's Modern Life characters include his best friends Heffer and Filburt, a cow and turtle respectively. There's also his loyal but dim dog Spunky, and his neighbors Ed and Bev Bighead, with the former really hating Rocko. The show was famous for its distinct - and pleasing ugly - art style and its sly social commentary. It was also noted for its boundary-pushing crude humor, some of which were subtle and some that really weren't. This led to certain sections of episodes being censored or segments like "Leap Frogs" being pulled entirely from repeat viewings.

Rocko's Modern Life came to an end in 1996 after four seasons, though the final season is generally considered the weakest. The show still holds a very fond place in the hearts of fans, and there are a couple of platforms it can be streamed from. It's not currently available from the likes of Netflix, Hulu or Prime, but all four seasons can be found on Nickhits Amazon Channel while two seasons are available from CBS All Access, according to JustWatch.

Every season of Rocko's Modern Life is also available from iTunes, Amazon and Vudu, with prices starting from $3.99. As with any beloved cartoon, talk of a Rocko's Modern Life reboot would crop up from time to time in the years after it ended. This finally came to pass in 2019 with the release of Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling. While this was originally developed as a special for Nickelodeon, it was later picked up as a Netflix exclusive.

Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling may have arrived over 20 years after the end of the show, but it was greeted with acclaim for both its sharp script and incisive commentary on reboots in general. It also received praise for its handling of the Bigheads' only child Rachel Bighead, who in the movie is revealed to be transgender. The show's creator Joe Murray voiced the character in the original show and the movie. There don't currently seem to be any plans to revive Rocko's Modern Life for another show or movie, so for now, Static Cling appears to be the end of the franchise.
