The jukebox musical biopic Rocketman stars Taron Egerton as Elton John, but does it have a post-credits scene? The last year has seen two high profile biopics following music legends, the first being Bryan Singer's Bohemian Rhapsody, and the second being Rocketman. In fact, both films feature the music manager John Reid (played by Richard Madden in Rocketman and Aidan Gillen in Bohemian Rhapsody) since he managed both Queen and Elton John. The two movies have some other crossover behind the scenes as well, with Rocketman director Dexter Fletcher having stepped in to complete Bohemian Rhapsody after Singer was fired from the project.

Fletcher's own music biopic is now at the forefront, with Rocketman premiering at Cannes earlier this month before hitting theaters around the world. Rocketman follows the early life and rise of Elton John (Egerton), revealing how he came to love music and skyrocket to fame as one of rock and roll's most ostentatious performers. In addition to Reid, Rocketman features Jamie Bell as John's songwriting partner Bernie Taupin and Bryce Dallas Howard as John's mother Sheila. The Rocketman movie reviews have been largely positive, praising Egerton's performance in particular.

Now that Rocketman is hitting theaters, moviegoers may be wondering whether they need to stick around until after the credits for any extra scenes or Easter eggs. Rocketman does NOT have a post-credits scene, though it does have a nice photo montage during the first portion of the credits. So while it's always good to watch the credits to get an idea of all the people involved in the making of a film, Rocketman viewers shouldn't expect any credits scenes or teases.

It certainly makes sense that Rocketman doesn't have a post-credits scene since stingers like that are typically used by franchise films to set up future installments. Or in some cases, they're just an extra scene to add some fun at the very end of a movie. A scene featuring Egerton and the real-life Elton John singing together is an example of something that could have been included. Meanwhile, other films use audio cues, like the live-action Dumbo or Avengers: Endgame, to add an extra Easter egg for fans.

Though Rocketman doesn't do either of these things, the movie does have a special sequence at the start of the credits featuring classic photos of John compared to still images from the film. The sequence works to showcase just how spot on Egerton's casting, costumes and makeup are to turning him into the iconic musician. It's also a nice way to honor the singer's legacy one more time at the end of the movie. So while moviegoers checking out Rocketman in theaters should know they don't need to stick around for a post-credits scene of any kind, there is something fun to look forward to during the credits.
