A new arena shooter exploded onto the scene on July 14th! Titled Rocket Arena, this fast-paced 3v3 shooter comes with ten characters with more on the way. There are various modes and different maps, which offer unique challenges. The game does feature microtransactions in terms of cosmetic effects, but many can be earned through normal play and have no other effect on the game than looking fancy.

Rocket Arena has some rather unusual modes of movement, such as firing rockets at a wall in order to climb it (with no harm to the player). Also, most of the characters can jump in the air three times before they need to land.  Mobility is key to avoid the barrage of rockets that players will find being fired in their general direction. Despite the explosions, death is not present in this game. Instead, a player’s blast meter will build up as they take damage. If it fills all the way up, a megablast will trigger and the player will be launched from the arena. If prior to being megablasted, they manage to avoid being hit for a while, the meter will go down. If not, the more they get hit, the farther back they will fly. So it is possible to knock someone out of the arena without causing a megablast, which makes positioning and edge-guarding important strategies.

What a Stun Break is in Rocket Arena

There is a way for a player to recover from relentless attacks, and it is called the stun break. If the player has gotten hit by the enemy and knocked into the air near the edge of the arena (and the enemy has not scored a megablast yet), it is possible to stun break. When the enemy is firing rockets at the player, they can press the dodge button at the last second. The player will dodge out of the way, and it will trigger a stun break. This gives the player a chance to regain some momentum, either by firing back or moving to a more advantageous position. One thing to keep in mind though: there is a six-second cooldown on dodges, so timing is crucial. If a player uses it too early, they will still face the brunt of the attacks, possibly knocking them out-of-bounds.
