Rocket Arena launched on July 14th, and players looking to get into the game have a host of options. In it, players will choose a character, join up with two others, and face off against another team of three in this third-person arena shooter. Unless of course, they decide to face robots to hone their skills in practice mode.

There are several different modes of play, with new modes coming each season. One mode in particular is Treasure Hunt, in which teams will try to gather as many coins as possible to score points. Coins are gained by holding a treasure chest for a certain amount of time, or by collecting coins in the coin round.

Getting the Treasure Chest in Rocket Arena

The chest always spawns in the center of the map, making it a contested area. It has 25 coins, and one coin per second is awarded to the team currently holding the chest. If the character holding the chest is knocked out of the arena, the chest will respawn back in the middle after a few seconds. Whichever team earns the final coin from a chest is awarded ten bonus coins. What this means is a team can hold the chest for 17 seconds, but if the opposing team holds the chest for the final 8, they still come out ahead.

The goal in Treasure Hunt is to gather the most coins, not to knockout the enemy. Still, it is essential to win, and is crucial in one specific strategy. It might seem like getting the chest first is important, but consider this: the player holding the chest has their special abilities locked, meaning they are not as effective in a fight. In this strategy, the team waits until the enemy has picked up the chest, then they pounce. They focus their fire on the chest-bearer and knock them out of the arena. At this point, assuming all goes well, it is now a 3v2 fight, as the knocked-out player must wait to return to the arena. This makes it much easier for the team to keep the chest and rack up the points, and get those bonus coins.

This strategy is risky, and can be somewhat difficult to pull off, as coordination between players is needed. Therefore, it might be best to try this tactic when the players are familiar with each other, rather than with random groups. The team must also be on their game when it comes time to collect coins scattered around the map, but it is a strategy to consider.
