The Batman star Robert Pattinson's workout regimen for the role is revealed.  Warner Bros. and DC Films' project was already in the middle of filming when the threat of the coronavirus pandemic across the globe forced them to suspend production. When the actor said in a previous interview that he's not really working out during the break, some fans were surprised, while others were straight-up unhappy. Now, however, it turns out that it's not exactly the case as he has quite a killer workout system in place.

Not much is known regarding plot specifics for The Batman, although some news over the last several months has given fans an idea with what to expect from the character. For starters, Pattinson's version of Bruce Wayne is just on his second year as the Caped Crusader, meaning he's technically still at the beginning of his career, but already has an idea of what this life path entails. Official looks at the character wearing his batsuit has also been unveiled courtesy of Reeves, coupled with set images offering the public a glimpse at what this new iteration of the Dark Knight might actually look like on the big screen.

In a brand new feature from For Men Healthy (via Pattinson360), Pattinson's workout regimen is revealed for The Batman and it's a mix of different kinds of activities. Aside from exercising in the gym, the actor is also keeping himself active with other activities such as running around 5-10 km three or four times a week, as well as "military-style sandbag routines." The actor also boxes for more variations. In conjunction with his workout, he maintains a healthy diet.

Pattinson revealing that he's not working out for The Batman caused quite a controversy, with some accusing the actor of not taking his upcoming DC role more seriously. However, it's quite odd that much of the backlash was rooted in the idea that Pattinson's Batman is supposed to fit the same physical mold as his most recent predecessors have. Ben Affleck's iteration from DC Extended Universe's Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice was explicitly shown to be doing some sort of cross-fit routine in his preparation for his imminent battle with Superman. The thing is much earlier incarnations of the Bat of Gotham were lean such as Adam West and Michael Keaton, and both versions seemed to work just fine. It's all a matter of framing, and based on what's known about Pattinson's version who's relatively in his early years as the Dark Knight, the non-bulky type should work.

So, while Pattinson's workout regime may not be as intense as his predecessors or even other superhero actors, it shouldn't be much of a big deal. For what it's worth, the aforementioned routine seemed to be specifically crafted with a particular end result idea in mind - after all, even the actor said that Warner Bros. provided him with a physical trainer whose job is to oversee his progress and make sure that he's in the physical state needed for The Batman.
