With the new World Cup promotion in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team World Cup, Heroes have arrived, including Ireland's finest striker Robbie Keane. The striker was the star of the show for his country in the 2002 World Cup helping his side to the last 16, and Keane features as one of the Heroes in FIFA 23. Hero cards are similar to Icons featuring high-rated former stars to help bolster any Ultimate Team. All the cards in the promotion had base cards introduced at the game's launch, but now an improved version of each Hero is being released to coincide with the start of the 2022 World Cup. Keane is one of these stars and is the first to become available via Squad Building Challenges (SBC).

Squad Building Challenges allow players to trade in sets of unwanted players for new promotional cards and packs. Cards such as Heroes and Icons often have high requirements, and Keane's is no different. Many in the FIFA community are touting Keane's promotional card as the best attacker currently in FIFA 23. The Irishman's overall rating is only 88, but he has stats of over 90 in the three key areas for strikers, pace, dribbling, and shooting. The former Tottenham, Leeds, and Liverpool man also has the key five-star weak foot stat, which is vital in this year's game for success. With the right chemistry style, Keane's pace and shooting are below the maximum 99 rating, making them as good as anyone in FIFA 23.

With the card being one of the best in the game, it comes at a high price. To earn the Irishman's promotional card, players will need to exchange six full squads. The additional requirements are minimal, including one player from the Premier League and Team of the Week cards. However, the big problem gamers will face is the high team ratings required meaning some of the best stars in the game will need to be traded in to complete the SBC. The remaining Heroes World Cup cards are available in packs including from FIFA 23's Squad Battles Rewards.

The estimated cost to complete the Robbie Keane SBC is 800,000 coins, which most players will struggle to see for months in FIFA 23. In addition, the required top-tier players will cause problems, with numerous 90+ rated stars needed to complete the top SBC. The best way to do this is to use two or three of the cheapest 90 or 91-rated players, commonly goalkeepers and lower stars in the mid 80s. The highest-rated Premier League players in FIFA 23 can also use be in the SBC. If gamers already have many high-rated players in their clubs, now is the time to use them in SBCs.

Heroes have been an excellent addition to FIFA and the World Cup versions of cards are among the strongest available in the game. Unfortunately, not all players can access Keane due to being the highest-costing SBC so far in this year's game. However, while expensive, Robbie Keane's card is as good as any striker in Ultimate Team, and those who can afford it should complete this SBC as it has the attributes to transform a squad in FIFA 23.
