Rob Zombie continues to tease his reboot of The Munsters with a fresh look at 1313 Mockingbird Lane, home of the iconic comedy monsters. While still leaning toward the spookier side of the sitcom genre, Zombie's take on The Munsters will see the filmmaker-come-rockstar step away from a history of producing almost exclusively horror movies to more family-friendly broadcasting. Despite this departure, his career as a respected director is impossible to understate, thanks to Zombie's work on horror classics such as The Devil's Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses and the somewhat less favorably received 2007 remake of Halloween.

A deep satire of both suburban America and horror movie tropes, The Munsters is regarded as one of the classics of the '60s sitcom era, centering on the lives of a harmless family of monsters as they try and get by in day-to-day life. Thanks to its success, the series spawned several movie spin-offs and a follow-up series some 20 years later, titled The Munsters Today. Now, another 30 years on, Zombie's modern reboot will star the director's real-life wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, as family matriarch, Lily, Jeff Daniel Phillips as head of the Munster household, Herman, and frequent Zombie collaborator, Daniel Roebook, as Grandpa Munster. While the plot of Zombie's vision is still under wraps, the filmmaker has consistently teased the movie over recent months, including a recent look at The Munsters main cast in strikingly authentic outfits.

Now, Zombie's latest tease offers another look at The Munsters home, 1313 Mockingbird Lane. The photo, shared on Zombie's Instagram, shows the house in all its glory, the image reinforcing that Zombie has created a home incredibly similar to that seen in the original series and subsequent sequels. Despite its similarities to its source, the house also shows how far set design has come, as Zombie's version of 1313 is even more incredibly detailed than ever before. Check out the post below:

Despite its popularity, Zombie's movie will be the closest a Munsters reboot has come to release since Bryan Fuller's failed pilot for a series in 2012. That, in itself, is one of several projects in the franchise that failed to make it to full release, as the series has struggled to find the right person to bring the The Munsters into modern times. In comparison, fellow macabre sitcom, The Addams Family, which began airing around the same timehas fared better, spawning several successful films and series over the years, with a Netflix series based on death-obsessed Wednesday currently in the works. Despite the lack of modern iterations of The Addams Family's biggest competition, Zombie's traditional take on the franchise looks to be sticking close to the source material, which can only be a good thing in his effort to break The Munsters curse.

While Zombie's teasing has given fans plenty to ponder, one of the biggest questions surrounding The Munsters reboot is if the project will be in black and white. A homage to old Hollywood and the show's roots, almost every image put out by Zombie has stuck to the monochrome color pallet, but the latest tease of Mockingbird Lane breaks this trend, with the image showing the home in full-color glory. However it ends up looking, every image Zombie teases demonstrates that he's the right person to bring The Munsters back to life, as it's very clearly a passion project for the director. Constant costume teases, set-piece sneak peeks with exemplary attention to detail, and now the latest look at 1313 Mockingbird Lane reinforce that Zombie is fully committed to making the movie work. While a teaser still looks to be some way off, The Munsters movie will release next year in theaters and stream on Peacock at the same time.
