Fans are saying Rob Zombie and Jason Momoa look alike. There are even some memes going around comparing the two, but why? How can hard rock musician and horror filmmaker Rob Zombie be anything like Game of Thrones and Aquaman actor Jason Momoa?

Rob Zombie has been a part of the horror scene since the 1980s, starting with his horror-inspired metal band, White Zombie. His 1995 hit, "More Human Than Human" made the top ten on the Billboard 200 charts. However, the band broke up soon after that, and Rob Zombie went solo with his 1998 album, Hellbilly Deluxe: 13 Tales of Cadaverous Cavorting Inside the Spookshow International. The album, highly influenced by classic horror films, was a big success, which gave Zombie the freedom to work on other projects. He has since written and directed several horror movies, including The House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, and a remake of John Carpenter's Halloween.

Jason Momoa, on the other hand, is an actor who burst onto the scene for his time playing Khal Drogo in HBO's record-breaking television series, Game of Thrones, although he began his career as a model. In 2014, he was cast as Aquaman, making a cameo appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and had leading role as the superhero in Justice League. He then starred in 2018's Aquaman as the title character. However, from the moment pictures of Momoa as Aquaman began to surface, fans began to comment on how much he looked like Rob Zombie.

Why Rob Zombie Looks Like Jason Momoa

Fans were understandably shocked when they first saw Jason Momoa as Aquaman. Gone were the green and orange tights the character traditionally wears in the comic books. In their place, Momoa sports tribal tattoos, burnished armor, and knotty dreadlocks. In many pictures, he is depicted scowling, looking angry, with muted colors that would be at home in a Rob Zombie music video or horror movie. Nevertheless, it's likely Momoa's messy dreads, which match Zombie's own scraggly hairstyle, which has led fans to compare Jason Momoa to Rob Zombie.

Of course, some fans have taken the comparisons a step further, and a series of memes have spread across the internet. Although this Zombie/Momoa pandemic is a little bit mean to horror icon Rob Zombie, it is amusing. One meme states that Zombie looks like Momoa after being microwaved on high for thirty minutes. Another, a little less harsh, says that Momoa is what Zombie would look like after a hot bath. Even so, Rob Zombie continues to produce new music and to make cutting-edge horror films. He could already working on his next movie after 2019's 3 From Hell, though he has yet to announce any new endeavors. If nothing else, perhaps this comparison will bring more Momoa fans over to Zombie's side of the world and introduce them to his body of work.
