The Right Stuff features a brilliant ensemble cast, so where have you seen them before? Based on Tom Wolfe's eponymous 1979 novel, the Disney+ series follows the U.S. space program called Project Mercury and the seven astronauts who became known as the Mercury Seven. The Right Stuff was co-produced by National Geographic.

Set during the late '50s and early '60s, The Right Stuff centers on the personality traits of legendary U.S. astronauts. Project Mercury was not only a visionary space program, but one that forever changed American culture by sending the first men into space. The Right Stuff on Disney+ covers familiar territory with its NASA narrative, but the larger story pinpoints the human element and all the difficult decisions that made Project Mercury possible. Wolfe's novel was previously adapted for the big screen in 1983 by director Philip Kaufman.
