Disney+ is constantly looking for new content. Luckily for the streaming service, the Walt Disney Company is sitting on a goldmine of different concepts that could be adapted to great TV shows. Their rides and lands throughout the parks have brilliant narratives that could be used in a live action setting.

While some of these franchises could actually become movies, each of the lands and rides chosen also have long term potential and might actual be ideal to become ongoing series. Disney has never created a series from one of their lands or rides before, so it would be an interesting experiment to see if it could work.

Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom could be used in a variety of ways. Firstly, the tree of life is a great centre piece to base a fictional story around, if the genre is to be more fantasy based.

Secondly, there's been a few different films and series based on zoos, but often in a documentary style rather than as a fictional work. Perhaps Animal Kingdom could serve as a zoo as part of a larger story.

Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion has already inspired an Eddie Murphy movie in the past. But, the film wasn't exactly a success and is probably one of Disney's most forgettable projects.

The film can be experienced on Disney+ still, but a series in the horror genre could be something the streaming service is missing. The Haunted Mansion, or even the French Phantom Manor, could provide a great backdrop for that kind of show.

Expedition Everest

Expedition Everest might be a more niche ride at Disney, but the story of trying to conquer this great mountain while running away from the Yetis that inhabit it, could be a brilliant adventure show.

Exploration in this way always provides for an interesting story, but it has rarely been done in snowing conditions and at high altitudes. These thriller and fantasy elements could combine really well.

Epcot

The iconic Spaceship Earth in EPCOT

Epcot is an exploration of science, culture and space. It's an interesting collection of what makes up the Earth, as well as what humanity's future could really be.

It's therefore perfect to inspire some kind of series exploring how science and culture intertwine. This is perhaps one of the few lands on this list that would be much better as a non-fiction series, travelling across the globe and looking at the complexities of life.

Galaxy's Edge

The Milennium Falcon at Galaxy's Edge.

Galaxy's Edge is of course already inspired by the Star Wars brand, but the creation of Batuu has already launched a book which is part of the lore and history surrounding this Disney land.

It would be very easy to try to continue this cross promotion therefore and try to appeal to a larger audience. Creating a fictional series set in Batuu would mean that fans could then relive the show in the Disney parks.

It's A Small World

It's A Small World is the other series on this list that could act in a live action capacity. It's surprising there hasn't been a use of the name in a show that explores different cultures across the globe.

It's a perfect setup for a travel show, which could even be organised in the order that the countries appear on the ride. This could be a really fun take on the concept and maybe even link to some of the Adventures by Disney.

Big Thunder Mountain

Big Thunder Mountain

Big Thunder Mountain is perhaps one of the most famous original rides at the Disneyland parks. What's more, it has the fantastic backdrop of Frontierland which helps guests feel like they are in the old west.

It seems fitting therefore that the streaming service could produce some kind of western show, which has a disaster on the mountain as a backdrop for the conflicts that will occur. The genre is also pretty popular right now!

Tiki Room

The Tiki Room is one of the oldest parts of Disneyland and has been a huge part of the history of the parks. It is one of the first instances of animatronics being used and is still featured to this day.

It's surprising there has been no animated shows based on the Tiki Room. It could easily incorporate some of the humor, music and magical elements of the experience, perhaps being aimed at kids.

Adventure Isle

Adventure Isle is available to visit to guests in various Disney parks including in Paris and Shanghai. They are islands of mystery and of course exciting adventure.

Usually involving amazing pieces of nature, or perhaps hidden tree-houses and rickety bridges and adventure based TV show could easily be set on these islands, where the main characters are stranded.

Fantasyland

It would be fun to see a Disney+ show that embraces many of the Disney fairy tales and sets them in a small village. While staying away from series like Once Upon A Time the focus could be on this quaint village.

Fantasyland is a compelling place to explore. It could even be fun to actually follow the lives of the everyday villagers who live there, rather than the titular princesses; perhaps pitching it as a comedy show, looking at all the other films from a different angle.
