Here's a rundown of every cursed item available in Rick And Morty's Needful Things store. Adult Swim is known for its line-up of bizarre but hilarious animated shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force or Robot Chicken, but Rick And Morty became one of their biggest almost instantly. The series follows the titular genius scientist and his grandson as they hop around the universe having adventures, but it's not the breezy cartoon adventure that might imply.

Rick And Morty has run for four seasons so far and is the co-creation of Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, who also voices the title characters. It's easily one of the biggest animated shows in the world and features fantastic and inventive comedy writing. Adult Swim also knows they're on to a good thing since they greenlit 70 more episodes in 2018. That should roughly translate to six more seasons, but given how long a typical series takes to come together, it might be a while before it reaches the end.

A typical episode of Rick And Morty is loaded with pop culture references, with season 1 alone nodding to Jurassic Park and A Nightmare On Elm Street. One of the most blatant came from "Something Ricked This Way Comes," where Summer starts work at a new store called Needful Things, run by Mr. Needful (Alfred Molina). This is a reference to Stephen King novel Needful Things, which was later turned into a movie starring the great Max Von Sydow. Here's a guide to the many cursed items available in the store.

rick and morty something ricked this way comes
  • Aftershave that makes the wearer irresistible to women, but renders them impotent
  • A microscope that reveals things "beyond comprehension" and causes mental retardation
  • A typewriter that writes best-selling murder mysteries, but the killings happen in real-life
  • Beauty cream that makes the wearer beautiful but renders them blind
  • Running shoes that cause the wearer to run super fast, but they'll run until they die
  • A boa that eventually wears the owner
  • An intelligent doll that kills its owners
  • A monkey paw
  • Boxing gloves that turn the wearer into a champion, but only in a match in 1936 that they'll be forced to fight for eternity.

Rick and Mr. Needful soon become rivals during this Rick And Morty episode, with Rick removing the curses from these items to ruin the business. For instance, he removes the curse from the running shoes, which turn the wearer into the fastest runner alive with no ill consequences, or makes the boxing gloves into a time-traveling device. Mr. Needful and Summer later shut down the failing business and work together to set up a website called n33dful.com, but the former eventually fires Summer when the work is done.

Rick and Summer get revenge by just working out and eventually beating Mr. Needful up during a presentation - a clip of which even appears in Justice League. Presumably Mr. Needful - AKA the Devil - is still in business somewhere, but he hasn't reappeared on Rick And Morty yet.
