Captain America actor Chris Evans took to Twitter to sing the praises of Adult Swim’s acclaimed animated comedy series Rick and Morty. Sprung from the minds of Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, Rick and Morty first premiered on Adult Swim back in 2013, and quickly gained cult status for its unique blend of sci-fi imagination and crazily dark humor.

By the time season 3 of Rick and Morty rolled around in 2017, the show had grown beyond its cult status to become a full-fledged hit, becoming the no. 1 comedy on TV in the 18-34 demo while garnering an Emmy for best animated series. Having ascended to such epic heights, the show seemed like it might come quickly crashing back down to Earth as creators Roiland and Harmon entered contentious negotiations over a fourth season. However, Rick and Morty fans received joyous news in May 2018 when the show was renewed for a mind-blowing 70 episodes. The first of those 70 episodes are set to debut on Adult Swim in November.

Apparently, among those who will be incredibly excited to see Rick and Morty return in October is Captain America himself Chris Evans. The actor took to Twitter to sing the praises of the Adult Swim animated show, and that tweet can be seen below:

Evans is clearly a huge Rick and Morty fan, and he’s far from the only famous person to love the show. Kanye West is a massive fanatic, and indeed has been offered his own episode of the show by Harmon, who calls West a "kindred spirit." Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss also love the show and even appeared on a commentary track when season 3 hit DVD. Rap duo Run the Jewels also love Rick and Morty and had the animated pair star in one of their recent videos.

Given Evans' love of Rick and Morty, is it possible the Captain America star could make his own appearance on the show? Rick and Morty mythology does already contain a very Avengers-like superhero team in The Vindicators, who appeared in the season 3 episode "Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender." As most of The Vindicators actually died in that episode, it seems the team has many openings, one of which could be ably filled by a character voiced by Evans (if he's game for making fun of his own image as a Marvel superhero).

As of now, no one knows what surprises Rick and Morty has in store for season 4 when it finally arrives, so maybe Evans will show up. Given the show's endless inventiveness and wacky approach to character, it's truly impossible to guess what might be next for fans.
