One of Rick and Morty's most beloved characters made his debut in the episde "Ricksy Business" where he revealed that he and Rick go way back and later first hooked up with Summer's friend Tammy. His life experiences made him wise beyond his years, and he loved to give simple yet profound advice in his signature monotone voice. He died at his wedding in the second season finale and made a majestic return in season four as Phoenixperson, or ''PP' in short.

Since he is one of the show's most beloved side characters, many fans took to honoring Bird/Phoenixperson with stunning fanart. Hopefully, his arc will evolve in season five and inspire artists around the world to create even more art.

Deslaias

Deslaias eternalized Phoenixperson's and Tammy's bond. After all, they are one of the sh0w's most prominent couples besides Jerry and Beth. They were supposed to get married in season two finale "Wedding Squanchers," but it turned out Tammy was an undercover agent for Galactic Federation.

She betrayed BP and killed him, which was one of the saddest deaths on Rick & Morty. In post-credits, BP was brought back to life in a similar fashion as Darth Vader, but it wasn't until season four that he revealed his new name, Phoenixperson, aka PP.

Ketsuo

After Birdperson died and came back as a cyborg, his personality also changed. KetsuoTategami portrayed the sudden shift in his facial expressions. In "Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri," Rick and Phoenixperson met once again, but Birdperson was no longer treating him as a best friend, to whom he owes his life.

Tristan Tait

The digital illustrator and artist Tristan Tait went for a more realistic portrayal of Birdperson. While Phoenixperson looks very muscular, Birdperson proudly sports a dad bod. It's not only his best quotes, delivered in a completely neutral tone that makes him one of Rick & Morty's most loved side characters, but also his deceiving non-threatening appearance. Rick and Birdperson go a long way back. Rick's avian friend is clearly not young anymore, but he can still fight like a champion.

Pirate Cashoo

In this piece of fanart, Pirate Cashoo really accentuated the 'bird' in Birdperson. The colors of his feet and hands as well as the long, brown feathers make him look like a powerful eagle.

This is probably how BP looked way back when he was doing God-knows-what with Rick. "The road your father and I walked together is soaked deeply with the blood of both friends and enemies," he told Beth at his wedding.

RonnieSmith98

RonnieSmith98's portrait of Birdperson and Rick fighting their enemies side by side makes us hope that season five will see these two reunite as friends and go on more adventures together. After all, "Star Mort: Rickturn of the Jerri" was one of the season's highest-rated episodes on IMDb. If it hadn't been for BP's return as PP, this Star Wars tribute would soon fade in our memory.

Hitori Maron

HitoriMaron's art is absolutely stunning. It stays true to Phoenixperson's appearance but abandons the cartoonish animation of the show. Instead, Phoenixperson is portrayed as an ethereal being, with stellar glitter adorning his feathers. There isn't much left of Birdperson: just one thigh, a hand, half of an arm, and, most importantly, his head.

SkyhookArt

SkyhookArt's portrait of Phoenixperson stays true to the series while adding beautiful stardust around him. In his transformation into PP, Birdperson lost his eye, which leaves us wondering how much of the old BP is still in there.

After Jerry turned him off, Rick decided to try and fix him, but it will probably take a while for them to be pals again since PP is clearly very angry at his mad scientist friend.

∆Marry∆

∆Marry∆'s fanart takes us way back to the times when Rick and Birdperson had a band. The artist speculates that the two were once a couple until BP decided to find a female partner to reproduce. At this point, Rick went his own way and had his own family. "But, in the end, he still misses the time they were together and gets upset when he sees him so happy with Tammy," the artist concluded.

This theory is, while a bit out-there, certainly plausible. It's a well-known fact that Rick doesn't discriminate when it comes to love. For example, he dated Unity, a hivemind that transcends the limiting binary gender system.

Artanurag

As a cyborg, Phoenixperson looked more daunting than the previous version of himself. Artanurag's majestic portrayal of his return makes PP look almost invincible. In the season four finale, he proved to Rick that he is one of the few being more powerful than him. If it wasn't for Space Beth, Rick would have been history.

ShaneORourkeArt

Last but not least is ShaneORourkeArt's take on Phoenixperson. He looks menacing, vindictive, and immensely powerful. The fact that there is so much amazing Birdperson/Phoenixperson fanart out there proves that fans want to see more of this character. He has an interesting yet enigmatic storyarc, and his story is definitely not over yet.
