On The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Jen Shah suggested that Meredith Marks and Mary Cosby may have turned her into the FBI, but it seems more likely that Meredith would get Mary to do their bidding. Meredith and Mary have a long history of butting heads with Jen. However, things took a turn for the worse after RHOSLC's Jen's legal issues surfaced in season 2. While Meredith and Mary have never been closer, Jen has been on the outside with everyone since charges of wire fraud and money laundering landed at her doorstep.

In The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 1, Jen's conflict with Meredith centered on her accidentally flashing her vagina in front of Meredith's son Brooks Marks. Brooks made some jokes about the incident on Twitter, sparking Jen to fire off some homophobic jokes of her own about Brooks. He has not stated his sexual orientation publicly, and Meredith was infuriated that Jen would attack her child. In season 2, Jen, Brooks, and Meredith sorted out their turbulent history over dinner, and all seemed well until the FBI came looking for Jen. Suddenly, Meredith wanted nothing to do with her, due to Jen's history of going after her family. Later, Jen accused Mary and Meredith of turning her in. True or not, Meredith's renewed distance didn't stack up.

Whitney Rose and Heather Gay suspected there was more to the story. Meredith answered, "of course, there is," and then threw her shades, and "mums" was the final word. Meredith reiterated, "For both Seth and I, it's very problematic what has gone on from Jen to our family." Meredith said Jen was in pain and didn't want to share anything to add to it. Whitney noted, "Meredith is putting her law degree at use here. She is giving me all the workarounds." When the whole crew did reunite for a girls' trip to Zion, a very drunk Jen officially accused Mary and RHOSLC's Meredith of tipping off the feds. Whitney pointed out that they'd have to ask the women to their faces, as they'd chosen to once again travel independently from the group.

Between Meredith's private investigator (and her indication that she knows more than she's letting on), and Mary's hint that those who come for her will receive karma in due time, Jen's fear that they could be plotting against her doesn't seem too far-fetched. However, due to the extreme lengths that Meredith went to distance herself from Jen, it seems unlikely that she'd link herself to any wrongdoing by contacting federal agents. On the other hand, Mary appears to be highly familiar with manipulation, fraud, and revenge.  After accusations surfaced that she's screwed over her church members financially,  turning in Jen seemed to be right in her wheelhouse. Mary's church was recently shut down after all the unsavory reports.

Mary and Meredith's surprising unity might be based on a secret plot to overthrow Jen, with Meredith as the mastermind unwilling to get her hands dirty. Then again, Meredith and Mary could just be smug that Jen got caught and have separate gripes. If Mary and Meredith did have anything to do with Jen's arrest, it seems unlikely they would reveal their actions on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
