Newcomer Dr. Wendy Osefo made a name for herself long before joining The Real Housewives of Potomac cast. The classy women of Maryland are back with a new season to serve some looks, exclusive events, and not-very-classy drama. Wendy, a friend of real housewife Candiace, ran in the same social circles and sat on the same non-profit boards as many of the cast members. Though she did hold some reservations when approached to join the series, she ultimately deemed it an opportunity too good to pass up.

Wife to attorney Edward Osefo and mother to three young children, Wendy is a family woman who also treasures her career. Aside from a couple of snide comments here and there, Wendy hasn't stirred up much drama this season. Housewife Karen Huger is apparently "not impressed" with Wendy so far, but the franchise rookie is sure to make her mark before the season's end.

Born in Nigeria, Dr. Wendy Osefo has become a force to be reckoned with in American academia and politics. In 2006, she received a Bachelor's in political science from Temple University, followed by a Master's degree in government from Johns Hopkins University in 2009. She then headed to Rutger's University in 2012 to collect a second Master's in public affairs. She continued her time at Rutger's until 2016, when she earned a Ph.D. in public affairs. Her dissertation focused on engaging students and their parents in low-income communities.

No longer a student, Dr. Wendy worked as the Director of Family and Community Engagement for the Obama Administration’s Antipoverty Initiative, DC Promise Neighborhood. Following this post, she served as the first director of Goucher College's Master of Arts in Management Program. Returning to the classroom as an educator, Dr. Wendy now holds the post of assistant professor of Education at Johns Hopkins University, focusing her research and teaching on the intersection between class, race, and education. Outside of the lecture hall, she has become a sought after political commentator, speaking on behalf of progressive issues for all major news networks.

Coupled with her academic achievements, Dr. Wendy also takes time out of her schedule to give back to her community. In 2017, she founded and currently serves as CEO for The 1954 Equity Project, an organization that provides resources and assistance to communities underrepresented in higher education. She sits on the board for numerous non-profits, including Children’s Scholarship Foundation of Baltimore,  The Education Foundation, and others. From her time as a political commentator and work in the classroom, it's clear that Dr. Wendy knows how to hold her own. That's a skill she's definitely going to need during her inaugural season of The Real Housewives of Potomac.
