Leah McSweeney is firing back at fellow The Real Housewives of New York City co-star Sonja Morgan for comments she made about her sister in the new housewives tell-all book, "Not All Diamonds and Rose." Leah joined the show in season 12 as a friend of Tinsley Mortimer and instantly shook things up in the group. Considerably younger than the other cast members, Leah was often misunderstood by the other women, which resulted in a few confrontations. Most notably, Leah had a hard time getting on the same page as RHONY original cast member Ramona Singer. Ramona had a hard time accepting Leah's openness about sex and her free-spirited nature surrounding the topic. Leah, on the other hand, felt there was a double standard set against her.

In her second season as a housewife, Leah brought in her friend Eboni K. Williams, and the two of them tried their hardest to educate the other women on race issues in America. This caused a lot of tension in the group, with some housewives not being as receptive to hearing Eboni when she spoke about her experience as a black woman in America. Ramona in particular caught a lot of flak for refusing to speak about anything to do with race, and even leaving the room anytime the conversation was brought up. Viewers were upset Eboni was not able to confront her about her behavior, due to the network canceling the reunion for this season.

Leah is now seemingly on the outs with her castmate and friend Sonja after she spoke negatively about her sister in a new housewives tell-all book. As reported by Page Six, Leah took to her Instagram stories to express her anger towards Sonja and to deny the claims she made in the book. Leah first posted a picture of an ashtray with cigarette buds in them, insinuating their friendship is over, saying Sonja was "talking mad s**t about Tinz and my sis" and that "it's a wrap" on their friendship. The ashtray and cigarette buds are likely a reference to Heather Thomson's claims that she used to protect Sonja from letting men put lit cigarettes in a certain part of her body. She later deleted the story but then posted an excerpt of what Sonja said in the book, calling it completely false, and said she would never tell people what Sonja did in unaired footage of her.

Leah is responding to Sonja's claims that her sister was a nightmare on set, and so much of what she did was cut from the show. Sonja claimed her sister's behavior led to her and Ramona crying under the table because she kept taking shots at them. She said Leah was too drunk to know what was going on and that she and Ramona were really embarrassed. Sonja also said that this is why the two didn't want to sit with the rest of the group the following night at dinner. However, the show made it seem like they were just lusting for men. According to her, this almost led Ramona to quit the show because she didn't want to be part of a show like this.

Throughout Leah's time on the show, she always seemed to find an ally in Sonja. It will be interesting to see if Leah will be able to get past these claims made by her The Real Housewives of New York City co-star, who she looked at as a friend. It's hard to see how they can move on, but other housewives have come back from much worse.
