Bethenny has also taken significant personal strides as she announced that she was engaged to Paul Bernon. Bethenny found herself in the hot seat after a recent episode of her podcast, Just B with Bethenny Frankel, was released. Bethenny spoke openly about how she had a meeting with her daughter Bryn's teachers about pronouns. Bethenny shared that she took part in a Zoom call where she learned that everyone had to say what their pronouns were. The housewife sounded frustrated as she shared, "My daughter didn't even know what hers were."

Bethenny angered fans by saying she was at an all-girls camp and a person "with a penis, who identifies as being a girl, went to the camp and was in the bunk with the girls. And the girls saw her—because it's a male anatomy but identifying as a woman—so the other girls saw a penis. They're 9, 10 years old, so the parents obviously weren't that happy." To make matters worse, Bethenny then claimed she heard that the aforementioned child was kissing a lot of girls at the camp. The Real Housewives of New York City alum divulged that she might not let her daughter sleep in the same bunk bed as a transgender child.
The conversation could have been an interesting opportunity for a discussion, but Bethenny went down a slippery slope that included topics of gender fluidity and sexual anatomy. Bethenny has usually been up to date on current events, but this recent podcast episode has set Bethenny back with fans. Fans were also upset to learn that Bethenny questioned trans inclusion in sports. The worst blow came when she implied that being transgender could be a phase. Naturally, critics advocated for the LGBTQ+ community and against The Real Housewives of New York City star's cruel words.
