Countless people have thoughts on Kanye West’s behavior amid his dramatic divorce from Kim Kardashian, including the former Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel. Since her time as a Housewife, Frankel has been expanding her Skinny Girl empire and transitioning into the world of podcasting. Sharing her thoughts on tabloid headlines, Real Housewives drama, and her personal life, Frankel is far from the first person to share their feelings about the tumultuous Kimye divorce process. While the reality star announced her separation from the “Off The Grid” rapper in late 2020, the drama didn’t begin unfurling until last November after Kardashian hosted Saturday Night Live. Shortly after Kardashian’s SNL performance, Kardashian and cast member Pete Davidson began dating, sparking the first explosion of many to be set by Kardashian’s ex-husband.

The drama began once Kanye expressed discontent in Kardashian's parenting of their four children amid their separation. Kanye accused Kim of kidnapping their child Chicago during a birthday party, claimed Kardashian exercised poor judgment for allowing their eldest daughter North on TikTok, and even said that Kardashian accused Kanye of placing a hit on her. The accusations were made through social media posts drafted and posted by the rapper for the world to see. The posts led to Kardashian releasing a rare statement last month claiming she feels attacked by her ex-husband and feels his behavior is more damaging to their children than any parental decisions she’s made in recent months. During Super Bowl weekend and the Valentine’s Day holiday, Kanye apologized for his public outbursts, broke up with his girlfriend Julia Fox, and sent a truckload of roses to Kardashian in an attempt to win her back.

In an episode of her podcast, “Just B with Bethenny Frankel”, the RHONY fan-favorite shared her thoughts about Kanye’s highly publicized tantrum regarding Kardashian, Davidson, and his children. Frankel encouraged Kanye to stop airing out dirty laundry over social media, warning listeners that it can only lead to more issues down the line. “You have to stay the course. You cannot go rogue and take matters into your own hands when it comes to the divorce and custody process. It will only hurt you,” the RHONY star explained. “Kanye, in particular, he’s talking into the court of public opinion instead of talking to the court of the custody of your children.

Frankel’s insight comes with an experienced eye. The Skinny Girl founder is still in the process of settling custody complications with ex-husband Jason Hoppy regarding their daughter, Bryn. Frankel shared that despite a marriage boasting a strong foundation, such as in the case of the iconic power couple Kimye, those relationships still won’t always work out. “Kim and Kanye were married for several years. He really adored her. They had this beautiful family and this great life and things then unraveled,” she explained on the podcast episode. Frankel elaborated that if Kanye wants to avoid matters getting worse, he needs to exercise more self-control. “He is clearly going through something emotional that supersedes reason and logic, but someone has to get through to him…it’s a serious matter from an emotional and custody standpoint.”

If anyone wasn’t already paying attention to the life and drama of the Kardashian family, they likely have heard about it now due to Kanye’s public outburst and the subsequent internet frenzy in response. While there have been many jokes about Kanye's behavior, it's an ultimately unsettling situation that could have grave consequences for Kardashian’s children. Kanye has seemingly taken a step back this week as he “takes accountability” and apologized to Kardashian, so hopefully, the tides will calm down in the future. Whether or not Kanye came to this conclusion independently, he seems to be taking a hint from the former RHONY star.
