Dolores Catania from The Real Housewives of New Jersey has shared the reason why she didn't attend Teresa Giudice and Luis Ruelas' engagement party. Dolores is known for being one of Teresa's ride-or-die friends, on and off the show. The two have never had any issues since Dolores joined her real-life friend on the hit reality show. However, there appears to be drama brewing between Teresa and Dolores, and it could be over Luis, since he's the one who decided to not invite her to their engagement soiree.
Dolores and Teresa have been friends for years. The two have a history that dates back to their youth, as they both grew up in New Jersey. Dolores joined RHONJ in season 7 but had ties to many of the show's OGs. Since she joined the cast, Dolores has been an ally of Teresa's and rarely addresses her most criticized moments. However, there have been hints of a possible feud brewing between the two friends, considering Teresa's wedding plans. Teresa recently revealed that none of her co-stars will serve as bridesmaids, including her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga.
Now, Dolores is opening up about why she missed Teresa and Luis' engagement party last December. “I wasn’t invited,” Dolores revealed on the Two T’s in a Pod podcast. “They said that they only kind of invited people that they went out together as couples." Teresa and Luis hosted the party in New York City ahead of the Christmas holiday. Family and close friends were in attendance. However, Dolores was nowhere in sight. When it comes to why she wasn't invited, Dolores believes there is "a reason behind it," but she isn't exactly sure why. "What I can tell you is it was not because of Teresa and I weren’t getting along," she added.
Dolores credited the snub to having not spent time with Teresa and Luis on double dates. At the time of the engagement party, Dolores was "just getting to know my boyfriend [Paul Connell],” and didn't get a chance to spend any time with Luis. However, despite not getting invited to her friend's engagement party, Dolores still showed her support. “I just say, ‘Teresa I’m so happy for you and it’s not about me and it’s not about that I had to answer to that," Dolores explained. She did note that a few people contacted her after the party to tell her "‘You should have been invited.’" But Dolores says "it’s not about any of that. It’s about, you’re happy,’” she revealed.
Dolores is adamant that she doesn't feel slighted by Teresa and isn't upset that she wasn't asked to be a bridesmaid at her wedding. "At my age, you think I want to be a bridesmaid standing up there?" Dolores quipped. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star is taking the high road and maintaining her loyalty to Teresa. She did recently tease just how "draining" the RHONJ season 12 reunion was for her. And hinted at a fallout with one of her co-stars. Hopefully, things are still all good between Dolores and Teresa.
