The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Kathy Wakile is open to mending her relationships with her family and former cast members Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice. Viewers might remember Kathy as she was a full-time cast member on the Bravo series from seasons 3 to 5. She was later demoted to a friend of the housewives from seasons 6 to 7. Kathy was most memorable for her family dynamic with her husband Richie, their two children Victoria and Joseph, and her sister Rosie.
After Kathy, who's a Libra, left the show, she stopped having a relationship with the Giudices and the Gorgas. The former reality star said in the past that the reason why she no longer speaks with the women was due to the reality show. When Kathy first joined RHONJ, she was in a great place with both Melissa and Teresa, despite their feud at the time. As the seasons went on, Kathy's relationship with them became strained, which ultimately led to their fallout.
In a recent podcast interview with Us Weekly's Getting Real With The Housewives, Kathy revealed that she is open to fixing her relationship with Melissa and Teresa, who are mirror images of each other, but that doesn't mean she regrets how their friendships came to an end. "I don’t live in that place of regret because we learned from our lessons that happened. Hard times, good times, we learn to take the lesson and move forward, and you progress," the 56-year-old said to the news outlet. "Who knows if those relationships would still be intact? You don’t know because even with families that are not on TV, you go through those ebbs and flows." Kathy doesn't regret butting heads with a cousin and cousin-in-law during her time on RHONJ as this is how families are on- and off-screen.
Kathy, who doesn't speak to Melissa, explained that she believes in the old saying, "When one door closes another opens," and that the end of her relationships with Melissa and Teresa happened for a reason. Now that she no longer has to work on those relationships, Kathy has time to allow more important relationships into her life. Even though Kathy isn't looking to mend their relationship anytime soon as she hasn't spoken to them in years, she says her door is always open when they are ready. Melissa and Teresa are still family, and Kathy would never completely close the door to reconciling with them. However, it may be difficult for Melissa and her husband Joe Gorga to develop a relationship with Kathy after her son Joseph compared Joe and Melissa to farm animals. Nonetheless, Kathy wishes both families well and hopes nothing but the best for them.
Despite the end of a family bond, Kathy is hopeful they will all one day mend their relationship. While it may not happen anytime soon, Kathy's door is always open to Melissa and Teresa. Maybe Kathy can fix their relationship by returning to The Real Housewives of New Jersey one day.
