Dolores Catania is commenting on her relationship status with David Principe after breakup rumors recently surfaced and gave insight into the next season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Dolores and David have been in a relationship for a number of years now, much to the dismay of most fans and her castmates. Her fellow housewives take issue with the fact that they think Dolores is settling with David and don't like that he isn't showing any signs of committing to her. Their concerns come from Dolores' past statements that she wanted David to propose before moving in with him. It seemed like she really wanted a proposal from him. However, she changed her mind leading to the women believing she is settling in her relationship.
Rumors of the couple's breakup began circulating in September, after a Bravo fan account received DMs claiming they broke up before a RHONJ cast trip to Nashville, Tennessee. The person who sent the DMs claimed they work in the same office as David and can confirm the two had parted ways. According to the DM, Dolores was the one who decided it was time to end things. There was a lot of evidence from the show that would support the rumors of their breakup. One piece of evidence was David's obvious disapproval of Dolores continuing to get plastic surgery. She hasn't stopped undergoing various surgeries, so it would seem logical for some tension to have remained in that relationship.
Dolores teased fans about her relationship status with David at the launch party for the new housewives tell-all book. As reported by Reality Blurb, Dolores spoke about whether or not she was still in a relationship with David. When asked about the rumors surrounding her relationship, Dolores teased fans by encouraging them to keep watching to see for themselves where she and David currently stand. Dolores also stated that her relationship status can't always be determined by whether or not David is with her at various events. She reminded fans that David is never with her while filming and that his absence should not be a big shock to fans. So him not being on the cast trip to Nashville should not be the way fans judge whether or not they're together.
Fans of the show have never subscribed to Dolores' relationship with David, much preferring her to reignite her romantic relationship with her ex-husband Frank Catania. The two have remained good friends in the years since their divorce, and fans love their dynamic. Frank is a regular on RHONJ and is often filmed hanging out with the other househusbands while on cast trips. The two claim they will never get back together, but fans will always hold out for hope that changes one day. Frank says he is afraid he will hurt Dolores again, and that is one thing he never wants to do again. Even their son Frank Catania Jr. claims he doesn't think his parents will ever get back together.
The question on everyone's mind now is whether or not Dolores is currently in a relationship with someone. She hasn't said much about her relationship with David, but it will be interesting to see if the breakup rumors are true or not. It'll also be interesting to see if fans let go of their hope of a reconciliation with Frank if she has in fact chosen to stay with David.
