Underworld: Rise of the Lycans and Doomsday star Rhona Mitra has signed on to appear in the upcoming action film Hounds of War with Captain America actor Frank Grillo. Shayne Putzlocher and Jean Pierre Magro are producing for Trilight Entertainment, which recently produced Blood on the Crown, starring Malcolm McDowell and Harvey Keitel. Pedja Miletic and Aaron Briffa are also producing Hounds of War for Jaggurnaught, along with Sara Shaak of Anamorphic Media, and executive producers Grillo, Nika Finch, and Polina Pushkareva.

According to Deadline, Mitra is set to play the role of Caterina Murino in Hounds of War and filming is now underway in Malta. Hounds of War will follow a group of mercenaries who take on jobs that are considered impossible. But after a mission goes wrong following a shocking betrayal, only one of them is left alive to avenge his fallen brothers. The film is being directed by Isaac Florentine, who has helmed a long list of action films like Scott Adkins' Undisputed franchise, and Close Range.

Mitra has previously appeared on popular TV shows such as the CW series Supergirl, Cinemax's Strike Back, and TNT's The Last Ship. Meanwhile, Grillo recently appeared in The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard with Ryan Reynolds and Copshop. He's now working on Justin Price's Hard Matter, which is currently filming with Fast and Furious actor Tyrese Gibson. Hounds of War marks a reunion for Mitra and Grillo after both previously starred together on ABC's vampire TV series The Gates.
