The Real Housewives of Dubai fans are sharing their distaste yet again for Caroline Stanbury, this time it has to do with her parenting skills. The new Bravo show has plenty of fodder for an explosive season of drama, and it all seems to include Caroline. Except this time, it's not about Chanel Ayan and Caroline's inability to get along but her comments on her marriage and parenting choices with her husband, Sergio José Carrallo Pendás.
Caroline is no stranger to reality TV since her previous experience on Ladies of London, and this season she is ready to stir up drama. From shouting across the table at Chanel in RHODubai episode 1 to starting beef with Mina Roe owner, Lesa Milan, after she told her to perform a sexual act on her husband, Sergio. Instead of angering her castmates, this time, Caroline upset viewers after making several comments about her British upbringing and her lack of desire for more kids despite Sergio's dream for a family. This spurned fans to call her "a lady with no emotions" and accused her of not having "a motherly bone in her body." Caroline asserted in the episode that this is the way the British are; they send their kids to boarding school most of their life. Caroline also stated that she only saw her parents twice a year between the ages of seven to 18.
The problematic RHODubai scene in question occurred at Chanel's birthday dinner, where Caroline brought up her recent argument with Sergio to fellow RHODubai castmate Nina Ali. Sergio expressed that he wanted his parents and Caroline's parents to sit with them at their table during their wedding. Caroline vehemently opposed this and repeated that she had friends flying in from all over the world that she would rather be with. This coincides with Caroline's comments earlier in the episode, where she shames Sergio for how much he speaks to his mother. Caroline also insisted that if they did have a child, she would hire a nanny and give the responsibility to them and Sergio. These comments were especially alarming for fans who already did not believe in Caroline's relationship with Sergio.
Following these comments, viewers were very upset about her attitude towards having a child with Sergio.One Twitter user, @essayjenkins, said, "Caroline Stanbury doesn't want to... Get married. Associate with Sergio's family. Have his child and raise it. Bish why are you getting married at all then?" @RandomTVPolls even created a post asking fans to vote on the real villain of the Bravo series, Caroline Brooks versus Caroline Stanbury, where Caroline S. won by over 75%. Another user accused Caroline of using RHODuabi as her "therapy" and insisted that it was time for her to go see a real therapist. @realitytv17 stated that "Caroline Stanbury [should] just let Sergio go & have a baby with someone his own age".
After RHODubai episode 5, it was clear to fans that Caroline was not ready to have more children, and after the heavy speculation on the validity of her relationship with Sergio, it does not seem that her favor will increase. Some Real Housewives fans even insisted Caroline should be removed from the show as she is the only member who is receiving such strong distaste from fans. Only time will tell if Caroline will redeem herself to viewers, but with a built-in fan base from her podcast and Ladies of London, it's unlikely that Caroline will be going far from RHODubai.
