Amid The Real Housewives of Dubai's premiere as the newest franchise, Chanel Ayan is being hailed for having the most iconic introduction. Chanel is a clear standout on the new show. As fans get to know the newest housewives in the City of Gold, Chanel has done more than enough to capture all the attention.
As the only supermodel on the show, Chanel boasts her good looks and decorated resume. The Kenyan-born Somali and Ethiopian supermodel has made history as the first Black woman to appear on magazine covers in Dubai. The elegant businesswoman has also appeared in a number of spreads for Vogue. Chanel's husband didn't join her on the show, but she has been married for 22 years. Chanel shared how well she gets along with her son Taj and why she allows him to play hooky from school so they can hang out together. Chanel built her wealth through modeling and running her own talent agency. Her undeniable confidence stems from how hard she's worked to become a sought-after supermodel and entrepreneur.
After watching the premiere, Chanel quickly became a fan favorite on the new show. "Probably one of the most iconic (if not the most iconic) housewives introduction in history," Salva Cambranes tweeted along with a clip of Chanel's intro. With the new series being the first Housewives franchise to include full-body confessionals, Chanel was able to have her assistant fan out her lavish gown right ahead of her revered introduction. Chanel first spoke in Swahili, then Somalian, and Ugandan before finishing in English. "I'm a bad a** bi*ch," Chanel declared. "I'm telling you in four fu*king different languages how fabulous and bad a** bi*ch I am." Chanel made sure to add a sassy snap of the finger at the end of her bold intro speech.
Many other fans praised Chanel's standout debut noting how "perfect" it was. Others said the intro highlighted why the other housewives on the show come off "intimidated" by Chanel. The premiere followed the ladies' journey to reconnect and make new friends. Chanel brought the drama during a group gathering by confronting Caroline Stanbury and Caroline Brooks. The ladies went at it with Chanel accusing Caroline B of being "jealous" of her. When Caroline dissed Chanel's wig, the other ladies appeared amused by the dig.
It's clear that Chanel will be the one battling it out on The Real Housewives of Dubai. With her declaring herself as a "bad a** bi*ch," Chanel will have to stay true to her brand and maintain her boss demeanor as the show progresses. Chanel kicked off the show by feuding with two housewives. She'll likely add more enemies to the list by the season's end, especially if fans have already deemed her an "iconic" show lead.
