After being welcome onto The Real Housewives of Orange County, Dr. Jen Armstrong had one heck of a freshman season, but it looks like her marriage was hit by the curse and is ending in divorce. Dr. Jen seemed to be unhappy in her marriage with Ryne Holliday but wanted to make it work for the sake of her family. Now, the mother is deciding to walk away from it for good.

During RHOC season 16, Jen's first season, viewers learned that she and Ryne were not on the same page in their relationship. During an episode, she cried to fellow costar Heather Dubrow about the state of her marriage, asking for advice. The breakdown came after Jen revealed she and Ryne had a massive fight which resulted in him packing a bag and leaving the family home. Ryne wasn't a fan of the Bravo cameras, with Jen reporting he would usually yell at her once they were shut off. Sadly, after the season ended, Jen shared that she and Ryne had separated for a month but later decided to reunite. RHOC fans knew the separation didn't do Jen and Ryne's relationship any good.

Not all is as it seems behind the gates of Orange County. Dr. Jen and Ryne's tumultuous relationship played out on the show for all to see, and it seems the same issues are what may have brought down their already crumbling marriage. It was apparent to RHOC viewers that Jen's demanding schedule and long hours took a toll on the couple's ability to be intimate. Fans also don't think Jen took her husband seriously in his career. Ryne had retired from professional gambling to become a stay-at-home father until recently when he started his own company Hawaii Hideaways, Inc., which offers luxury rentals and vacation planning services. While he does run his own travel business, it never seemed to be enough for Jen.

It was obvious that Ryne felt unappreciated for all he did in their home. He would barely speak to Jen and paid more attention to their small dog instead. However, Jen felt she wasn't given enough credit for how hard she worked to provide a great life for their family. It probably didn't help the situation that Jen would often drown her sorrows in a drink or two and air their dirty laundry to her cast  and the world.

Fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County are not at all surprised by the news of the split. Jen and Ryne were only married for eight years, but they clearly were worn out by the commitment. Bravo has yet to confirm which housewives will be asked back, but many assume Jen will be, thanks to her new storyline. The couple agrees on one thing, and that is to keep the divorce amicable for the sake of their three children.
