The popular Real Housewives franchise never gets tired or dull, even though many of the cities have been on the air for a decade or more. Fans can always find new reasons to obsess over the series and even if they don't love every cast member, there is always enough going on that there's something to love and enjoy about every episode.

Not every Housewives cast is amazing, but two of the most popular series are Real Housewives of Orange County and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Both feature beautiful weather, fancy mansions, and intruiging cast members who get into big fights (while claiming they don't want any drama at all). While both RHOC and RHOBH have many fans, people are split on which one they prefer, and they're sharing all their opinions on Reddit.

RHOC Started The Franchise

In a Reddit thread, a fan posted that RHOC started the whole franchise and that Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge have "created the mean girl formula that is the housewife show" and "without OC, there would be no housewives." They also said that the dramatic storylines are great.

Vicki has had some big arguments on the series and even though Vicki and Tamra aren't around anymore, they still deserve to be praised for their interesting and fun personalities.

RHOBH Is Better Because Shannon Is Frustrating

Shannon Beador

Many fans on Reddit agree that Shannon Beador is frustrating to watch, so that's one strike against RHOC.

Fans are familiar with her tough divorce from David and the hardships that she has faced, but that's not winning her much sympathy. Many said that she's immature and that she gets too upset even when nothing is really going on. It's hard to think of a RHOBH cast member who does the same thing.

Braunwyn's Storyline Is Honest On RHOC

RHOC BRAUNWYN

Braunwyn Windham-Burke has been talking about her alcoholism on the current season of RHOC and a fan shared on Reddit that they like her openness about such a vulnerable experience. The fan posted, "I got chills when she admitted to being an alcoholic. You can see the struggle she is facing. Feeling big empathy for her right now."

While many fans enjoy watching RHOBH, it's true that Braunwyn is talking about a really difficult and personal time in her life, and that is one point for RHOC.

RHOBH Is Better Because Of Brandi Glanville

In a Reddit thread, a fan posted, "Beverly Hills is going to get better! I’m so in this season." Another said that the seasons of RHOBH featuring Brandi are great, so it seems like many viewers are happy that Brandi has had more of a starring role on the season that just ended.

Fans watched in awe as Brandi said that she and Denise were once involved romantically, which Denise has denied in a confusing way. Brandi is no stranger to drama, that's for sure.

Emily Simpson Is A Genuinely Nice Person On RHOC

Even the most dramatic and interesting cast members can be harsh, and many fans posted on Reddit that they didn't enjoy seeing Tamra be so unkind to Emily.

Many RHOC viewers think that Emily is a truly, genuinely nice person and they sympathize with how she has fared on the show. One wrote, " She is genuine, sweet, and just wants to feel empowered and have her friends support her."

RHOBH Has Better Storylines Because People Hated When Brooks Faked Cancer

People have also mentioned on Reddit that it was awful watching the storyline on RHOC about Vicki's former partner Brooks pretending that he had cancer.

When comparing the storylines that have appeared on RHOC and RHOBH, it definitely seems like RHOBH has better ones. It was tough and exhausting to watch Vicki and Brooks cover up what was really going on.

Kelly Dodd Is A Fan Favorite On RHOC

Kelly Dodd recently got married and RHOC fans have watched her go through a lot, as she was in a very unhappy marriage for a long time.

Some RHOC viewers seem to prefer it because they love watching Kelly. Many said in a Reddit thread that Kelly is a "favorite" and "fun." The general feeling is that while she's a bit tough to watch at first, she becomes a lot more interesting as time goes on. She has, however, said many controversial things, so opinions on her are mixed.

RHOBH Has The Fabulous Dorit Kemsley

Everyone has their own favorite housewife, no matter which season or city they're watching, and some fans on Reddit think that Dorit Kemsley on RHOBH is the best.

One fan noted that "She's basically the perfect BH housewife" and another said that she's hilarious even when she's trying not to be. People enjoy watching her marriage, fashion choices, and arguments/interactions with the other women.

There's Something About Tamra On RHOC

Tamra Judge loo

Other fans pointed out on Reddit that Tamra adds something special to RHOC, which is why many fans love the earlier seasons more than the current one since Tamra isn't around now.

Tamra definitely fights with a lot of cast members but she also had a real journey, as fans saw her get married again and deal with her children and open a gym.

RHOBH Has A Unique Premise

Season 9 cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

A fan pointed out in a Reddit thread that while RHOBH is part of the popular Bravo franchise, it has something unique about it that isn't seen in the other cities.

The theory is that because people are so rich in Beverly Hills and care about putting up walls and looking good all the time, the show has to prove that the cast members are lying. The fan posted that the show will make "the velvet curtain come tumbling down as the audience begins to learn that, yes, indeed, life in Beverly Hills isn't all Diamonds and Rosé." This makes a lot of sense, as fans enjoy seeing Erika's amazing and crazy outfits and wondering what the real story is in each episode.
