Emily Simpson has quickly become a fan favorite on The Real Housewives of Orange County season 16. Viewers were first introduced to Emily through former RHOC housewife Tamra Judge. At the time, Emily was working as a party planner and an attorney while also being a wife and a mother. Viewers also got to know her husband, Shane, their three children, and Shane's two kids from a previous marriage.
Throughout her time on the Bravo series, Emily has gone through a number of ups and downs with her family and her fellow costars. During her beginning seasons, Emily and Shane hit a rough patch in their marriage. At the time, Shane was preparing for the Los Angeles bar exam and took a week away from his family to study in a hotel. At the same time, Emily was fighting with her best friend in the cast, Gina Kirschenheiter. Emily has come a long way since she was first on the show.
Before RHOC season 16 started airing in December 2021, Emily wasn't as beloved by viewers as she is now. Prior to this season, many were unsure about Emily due to her friendship with her former castmate Kelly Dodd, who was fired from RHOC ahead of the new season. Now Emily has quickly become a fan favorite. Viewers have started to enjoy the mother of three during the most recent season for multiple reasons. Firstly is her growing friendships. Not only have Emily and Gina become closer over the season, but they are no longer fighting with each other about petty situations. Emily has also become very close with Heather Dubrow, who returned to RHOC season 16 after a five-year hiatus.
The new friends even got together recently to celebrate Emily's birthday. Besides getting along with a majority of the cast, Emily has also provided most of the comic relief this season. During last week's new RHOC episode, Emily went to a spa with Heather and season 16 newcomer Jennifer Armstrong. At one point, the three ladies headed into the sauna to chat about the group. While the girls were gossiping, Emily went into her purse and grabbed a foot-long sandwich. Heather and Jen looked at Emily in shock and couldn't believe she had been hiding a sandwich in her bag the whole time. Viewers are enjoying this new fun side of Emily and are looking forward to what else she will bring this season.
It's nice to see Emily showing a new side of herself on RHOC. Not only does she know how to have a good time, but she always does a good job making viewers laugh. Hopefully, this fun Emily streak does not end since she's slowly becoming one of the favorite RHOC housewives this season.
