Kelly Dodd, a former cast member of The Real Housewives of Orange County, is under fire again, this time for confusion over her vaccination status and questionable past behavior regarding COVID-19. Kelly has been a polarizing figure on the housewives since her first season on the show. It was her off-show behavior that caused her most recent downfall. Fans did not take well to the fact that while the rest of the country was in quarantine, Kelly was out and about without wearing a mask.
Kelly outraged fans when she brushed off the severity of the pandemic, calling it God's way of thinning the herd. She owned up to making these comments, admitting she was stupid for saying what she said and that she was misinformed at the time. Fans were already upset with Kelly over her comments about COVID when she caused outrage again for mocking the Black Lives Matter movement. While on a trip for her bridal shower in October, Kelly posted a photo of herself wearing a hat that read "Drunk Wives Matter" on it. When her castmates asked her about it, she claimed she couldn't be racist because she is half black. She's since been fired from the show.
Kelly finds herself in deep water again, this time over her current vaccination status and her past behavior. According to Monsters and Critics, fans are calling her out for lying about having received the vaccine earlier than she actually did. Kelly recently posted a video on Instagram receiving the first dose of the vaccine and celebrating that she's now in the vaccinated club. Fans are confused because she previously claimed she was vaccinated in order to defend her going out in public without a mask. Kelly's response to this was that she was "naturally vaccinated" because she had the antibodies at the time.
Kelly's decision to get vaccinated is even more confusing to fans because of all the comments she made about the pandemic. A few months ago, Kelly made the statement that the pandemic is over and that she is an independent thinker, not a sheep. In her opinion, the CDC numbers at the time did not warrant the fear it continued to have on people. Matters were made worse for Kelly in terms of the public's negative opinion of her when it was revealed her mother and her teenage daughter Jolie both contracted the virus. Her mother was admitted into the ICU to manage her symptoms but has since recovered and is doing well.
Kelly has already been fired from The Real Housewives of Orange County, but who knows if that'll stop her from keeping herself in the limelight. Since getting fired from the show, Kelly has already gotten into a feud with G.G. from Shahs of Sunset, another Bravo show. It is only a matter of time before she finds herself in an argument with someone else.
