While some people were bummed to hear about Kelly Dodd’s firing from The Real Housewives of Orange County, there are many fans who think this can actually be a really good thing for the former housewife and franchise. The Orange County is ready for a shakeup, and it looks like that will be happening soon, with old and familiar faces returning to the show.
Season 16 is set to be a kicker, thanks to the departure of Dodd, Elizabeth Lyn Vargas, and Braunwyn Windham-Burke. The network promised a shakeup after a boring season 15 that left viewers wondering if the original franchise had seen its final days on air. Luckily, Bravo listened to their viewers and agreed that there are some old fan-favorites that desperately need to return to the show and that some existing housewives need to go. At first, it seemed like Dodd was taking her firing in stride, but at the end of last week, she railed against Windham-Burke, telling her it was the blonde’s fault.
As reported by Page Six, Dodd and Rick Leventhal are “funemployed.” Shortly after the news of Dodd’s firing, it was announced that her husband, Leventhal, was being let go from Fox News. Now, the newlyweds are having the best time and doing great. Leventhal revealed in a statement that he had a great 24 years with the news network, but “I’m living my best life in California with Kelly now and have never been happier.”
The 45-year-old former housewife was spotted on the beach, seemingly in high spirits after she attacked her co-star for being the root of their dismissal from the show. The couple was strolling on the beach wearing shorts and hats and checking their phones at times. While Dodd claims she was let go for being a conservative, fans believe this could be the best thing for the mother of one. She does not seem to know how to keep her opinions to herself, so maybe this is a good chance for her to work on that and any other issues she has.
Dodd has not totally shied away from her former reality TV bubble, as she is still involved in a feud with another reality star Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi. It seems all Dodd knows how to do is fight and cause issues with people. For the most part, fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County are thrilled she has been cut from the show. Dodd often spoke out of both sides of her mouth, and fans had a major issue with that.
