The Real Housewives of Orange County's resident lawyer, Emily Simpson, is revealing to followers that she was not at all surprised with how Vicki Gunvalson's relationship with Steve Lodge ended. Like the other OC housewives, Emily has had a front-row seat to the OG's drama. Vicki and Steve called it quits after his major loss for the race to be the next California governor.

Bravo fans will recall that Emily had a rough time getting along with the rest of the cast during her first season. The most trouble came from Queen Vicki herself. Vicki and Shannon Beador often claimed that Emily age shamed and bullied them. It was obvious to viewers that Vicki just didn't accept Emily as a new member of the elite group. Vicki was never known for her warm and fuzzy welcome parties, but she was always cold when it came to dealing with Emily. Now, the lawyer is revealing what she really thought about Vicki's recent relationship.

The RHOC star is not biting her tongue anymore when it comes to sharing her opinion about Vicki's questionable choice in men. Emily spoke with Us Weekly about the red flags she noticed even though she wasn't a part of Vicki's inner circle. According to the brunette, she wasn't at all surprised about the duo's split. Emily specifically cited a moment when she spoke with Vicki's brother, who said that Steve wasn't into Vicki. The 45-year-old went on to say, "I felt like he was an opportunist, and I think the red flags were there."

Fans learned that Vicki and Steve called it quits in September of 2021. The 59-year-old put Steve on blast after learning that he proposed to Janis Carlson in January only three months of parting ways. At the time, Vicki even claimed she believed he had used her to try and help him win the California governor election. Steve and Vicki started their relationship back in 2016 and became engaged in 2019. Sadly, Vicki's love tank still remains unfilled as she starts all over again on her quest for love.

Even though Vicki and Emily have had their differences, the lawyer would still like to see the OG return to the show since she made for some great TV moments. Since her breakup, Vicki has thrown herself back into work and visiting with her two children. Emily is currently slaying it on the newest season of The Real Housewives of Orange County. She and her best friend Gina Kirschenheiter are still getting up to shenanigans as they recover from their fight with Shannon. While Vicki has no plans to return to the OC, it is nice to know that Emily still has her back, even if Vicki never had hers.
